first time i've ever heard them compared to the stranglers. Diggles singing is sounds great , sick city sometimes, love is lies, autonomy - great songs old and new. He and Shelley are the Buzzcocks.
They sound perfectly credible, and I'm glad they're seeing a payday after so many years, but the original rhythm section were in a whole different league. Please note I'm saying this about my favorite band.
Hi mate, I know this comment was a long time ago and I hope the years have been kind my friend, I may be in a minority but Barker and Barber were my favourite rhythm section and like you were, are and always will be my favourite band👍
Think it's not original bass player either.. I seem to remember both he and Maher did play with Diggle and Shelley for a while when they first reunited but didn't hang around for too long - although they definitely played at least one big gig together... I've got it on vhs somewhere!! Hmm, wonder if I can did it out...?
Greatest powerpop punk band of all time. And Diggle and Shelley still have IT after all these years.
Pra ficar na coleção!
Shelley recorded this 30 years ago, I think his vocal contributions not only count, but are essential to their whole vibe.
I'd say this was from '94 when Libertine was released. Excellent stuff, sound great and still do after all these years.

shelley was the voice of buzzcocks! diggle makes it sound more like the stranglers!
must have been at least in 1994 when the Libertine Angel single came out
Alive Tonight EP? I think Mike Joyce from The Smiths played drums on that, unless you're speaking of another EP?
