That is a definite turn-off for me. The gaming industry is in turmoil right now. Every publisher wants that live service money. They all want their own Fortnite. Minimize effort and maximize profit. EA stated clearly at the investor event, how they plan to increase profit by using AI, letting their customers create the content. This way they only need a skeleton crew of developers. We can already see how the Sims 4 team has resorted to profiting from content creators, selling CC in form of kits. Or how they slowly implement battle passes. Easing simmers into it. At some point, publishers will stop free mod support and resort to mod marketplaces. Why give access to free content when people are happy to pay for it? There is a clear rift between old gamers and the new generation. Gaming has become a highly profitable industry. Games are a product now. We can already see how games suffer from lack of quality. Beloved franchises are turned into generic slop trying to appeal to all audiences. The veterans fight for their games. They don’t want to be dimed constantly for a less than satisfactory product. The younger players are already trained to accept microtransactions, unfinished products and live service games, they don‘t own. They are complacent and the publishers are ready to exploit them. Maybe they meant the franchise of inZoi will last 20 years...kinda like what happened with the Destiny games, when they said it will be 10 years and nearly ended up with a Destiny 3 🤔

I would love 20 years of inZoi but I feel like they need to be careful with it because the engine could get outdated just like Sims 4 but I can trust Krafton with it. Have a good week and a happy Halloween! 🎃
The Sims 4 engine was severely outdated before it even came out - it wasn't even fit for the purpose it was released in. That's why they keep releasing packs without new features - just new windows - because the engine was designed to be extremely inflexible from the outset. InZoi will not be like that because it has an up to date engine that was designed fit for purpose and the game was designed to be flexible from the outset. The Sims 4 wasn't. The Sims 4 ONLY survived because there was no competitor. There's a difference between an engine that was built fit for purpose and from the latest software and an engine that was built from old infrastructure for a different purpose and dragged across to another purpose. While nobody can predict 20 years, the aim of making THIS game last the distance is highly possible - much more so than The Sims 4 was, in fact. Don't compare the two in that way - they simply aren't comparable.
Sims 4 should never be an example of a game engine because their engine was already outdated and they turned a multiplayer focused engine into a singleplayer game that's why it's a hodgepodge of bad code. Inzoi, and even Project Rene, will use Unreal Engine 5, which is literally one of the most advanced game engines out there, the literal cutting edge in terms of game engine. Fun fact! The creators of the Unreal Engine is Epic Games, the same company that owns the Epic Games store and - Fortnite. Upcoming games that will use UE5 is the sequel to Cyberpunk. So these are all big games using the engine. There's nothing to worry about. Sims 4 is just the result of greed, incompetence, and executive meddling.
I mean, Sims 4 has been out for 10 years, and now that they aren't making a 5, I'm sure they'll push out content for 4 for years more to come. 20 years for Inzoi is definitely possible, but I would have prefered that anouncement once it had been out for a while and had some tangible proof that it was everything the devs claimed it to be. I'm really hoping they aren't biting off more than they can chew with this.
oh yeah it's def possible assuming it's originally successful,. I too think it was an interesting time to say so. of course, it wasn't inherently directed to fans- the message- it was in a press conference setting I believe
I don't know... I get what he's saying about wanting to add more and for it to finally reach his full vision. If it's done right I could see a life sim game lasting 10 years or longer. But I have a hard time picturing it, likely due to my only experience with a life sim lasting 10 years being Sims 4 and that's gone rather poorly and almost completely turned me off the franchise. I guess we'll see.
I don't really know either.. I have a lot of mixed feelings on his statement and truth is, it is hard to picture especially just now because it's not yet even in early access. so what 20 years would look like if it was that long, who knows
If you plan to have a single game for many years, the most important thing is to have a good foundation. Obviously, you can't foresee all possible scenarios, but you don't want to end up like in Sims 4 where you can't put cars because "the engine doesn't allow it."
😆 well, to be fair, I do think there is a sizable group that have the specs they need- assuming it runs well on the specs given. I'll be interested to see if they do end up making console (as they say they want to ) and a Mac version (doubting this)
All games are going toward that business model In the next 5 years. Games do not need a 1, 2 and 3 because with technology games are lasting much longer. We are officially at the end of an era of releasing games every 5-10 years. Technology has advanced.
I have always enjoyed your videos but there is no way after 20 plus years of the Sims not to mention the thousands of dollars am I ever leaving my Sims. Happy Holidays. Sul Sul.
thanks! I myself don't plan to play nzoi (it's not even on the platform I play) - and I could also see people (some) playing both, just like to keep pace with all that is going on in the industry

I think this game is going to do very well and its up to date with realistic graphics and they can also evolve with an graphics update on future pcs i thonk they could flesh out 20 years of it its very possible
the game isn't even out yet and they already promise empty promises to keep it going for 20 years?! what are they even thinking!!? it's so dumb. first let the game, full game, come out at all. Then we talk about how much time it will keep going, they be lucky if the game last for 5 years, not even talking about 10. this whole thing scream to me bad management, like LBY but unlike LBY this will be even worse than EA. it's like jumping to marriage and kids before you even date the guy, it's a dumb idea and never end well. you can't just jump things before you even finish the game.
I agree I would not think that would be wise to make a statement this early in. needs to have some breathing room, focus on its early state as it is now, focus on the launch. course having some plans into the future I understand but a projection of 20 years seems a bit much as far as the management, it's hard for me to say, they def have spent a lot less time (and maybe money idk) developing this game vs LBY so they have that on their side
The graphics animations are impressive and smooth. That they want to keep it active for 20 yrs means they want a young generation's interests in the game which could hurt it. Since they'll program themes that match that target audience reducing our present game interests.. So the game can change from the cozy Sim that we are hoping to get, into something that could be zombies at night protect your area. Boats races and even plane races which I'll tell you could be exciting, may take money from future activities for those that would like emotional family Sim activities - for example. We need to see what the fist year is like. To see if another surprise shoe drops on our heads like microtransactions store system with various monetary types. That could be hell. Thanks for reporting this great news, Erin!
it is possible; of course, the audience may shift over time as people get older. indeed, we still don't know about the monetization. boat races sound fun
I will still wait patiently for this game to be released. I'm just tired of the sims 4 I've tried to play a vanilla version of it but sorry without mods for me its BLAH!...I need a new change and for me INZOI is it. I've been playing sims since its release in 2000 my favorite was sims 2 when we had cars that played music and you drove your kids to school. Sims 4 went backwards to me just saying in my opinion. For me inzoi is a breath of fresh air...I'm not sure if they will get to release this year I feel it could be rushed and they should take their time with it. A release in 2025 is not a bad idea cause it can give them more time to fix things and to have a smooth running game anyways tysm for your videos always keeping folks updated

If Sims could do it why inZOI can’t? Since EA abandoned TS5 (and TS4 is just for milking money) it’s time for a replacement - inZOI and Paralives are both great candidates for that. Let’s just hope they won’t get consumed by ambition and greed
as shown here, many games have gone on for a long time. it isn't to say it can't be done. I think larger questions are if such models are more or less beneficial than the alternative; and that of course is in part subjective, depending on execution, the player base, the game in question and many factors
you know what i personally find more frustrating than their actual statement? the fact that i get where they are coming from. game development costs have soared higher and higher over the years, to the point that a lot of them now have budgets that rival big name hollywood movies. and with higher costs comes a higher return on investment needed to be deemed "successful", and a lot of games these days are not able to meet that point and then the studio goes bust. so even though im personally getting tired of all of the live service models, and games that are meant to last for years and years, from a developer standpoint i get it. you throw something at the dartboard and it sticks in this gaming and economic landscape? well then you double down and keep throwing as many more darts at that same spot as you can, hoping to keep hitting it for as long as you can before the board shifts again. it creates a gaming and movie space where creativity is often deemed too risky now, and sticking to the same game plan is safe and effective. i hate it, but i get it lol.
yeah, it's complex, to say the least. it's hard to fully say what is best under the current circumstances. How automation, evolving technology play a role is something to think on too
I have read stories about the people who worked on The Callisto Protocol that Krafton pushed it to be released before it was ready, and that was part of why it wasn't as good/popular as it could have been. Given that, it's still way to early to know the state of what the game will be on release, none the less it being able to last 20 years.
I loved the comment about dealing with the multitude of preferences and expectations that people have. Oh, boy is that true! In the past they've mentioned that they also play The Sims. If they've watched the community at all (which is a good idea if they want to develop a popular game), they would have seen how complicated it is to deal with all those expectations and preferences. If the game is popular and does attract people the way TS4 did, then it could definitely last for at least a decade if not two. As frustrated as Sims players are, they're still buying the game and playing it. I suspect that there are two main types of players (who may bop between the types). One type of player loves playing the same game year in and year out. The other type gets bored and wants to play a new game all the time. Some in the first group prefer "sandbox" style games because they can use their imagination to play their game. But even a "sandbox" player like myself likes to have new additions to the sandbox. (Some of the "make sure to put out new content every couple of months also helps those in the second group look like the first group. It's a "dopamine hit" thing.)
indeed it is complex. I think it'd be ideal to target many in the sims community,.,but also outside of it too. Inzoi appears to have a more serious take on a life sim- sims, really has a lot of silly. whimsical elements. There's also the addition of city manipulation tools, crime etc that could appeal to other audience, imo.
20 years? Lmao. I bet we have a bashing negative community for inzoi for their money milking , late and buggy packs/ updates Just like the one we currently have for sims 4 😂
I am so sick of devs going on about wanting games to last for 5/10/20 however many years. It’s dumb and ignores the clear technological advancement that happens in the gaming industry. I’d much rather see a new game release that builds and improves on it’s predecessor rather than companies shackling themselves down to what will inevitably be outdated in 5-10 years time but they keep trying to hold it together with patches and dlc rather than just putting their efforts into making something new that can evolve and improve on the formula alongside with the advancements of the industry.
I would too, honestly. It seems to be the sticking trend right now but I think it kills a lot of potential. seems to me gaming companies are skittish about spending money on new games and want to continue making, $ off their current ones
sims 5 was never cancelled. they were always making project rene. now, how it's evolved behind the scenes idk. with LBY they spent a load of money without making enough progress I guess. I will say things can always happen though
Sims 4 is supposedly getting some of its best content after ten years, or so people say. And they haven't set any finish line at all, but have rather given up on making a successor. So 20 years doesn't sound unreasonable. There are older games out there, just not in the same genre.
that is true, though I'd argue in sims 4's case, part of that is that the launch was pretty sub par. Course they are nearly impossible to compare- inzoi will be on at least for now a more suitable engine
what if company files for ch9? happens to many companies who make this same claim and ppl sued such company as well. Dont get ahead of themselves so fast. Also pcs go bad hardware after a few yrs for gaming as well. Try playing sims 2 on a recent pc gl with that and explain to my kids why no work. Had to buy an ancient laptop just for game.
Yall simmers and casual players out here crying about a high fidelity next gen game built on the latest unreal engine hypothetically dying makes me laugh. Ten years of development time is nothing when you actually got a good game to work with and play especially if its still in Early Access but I guess if your only point of reference is The Sims 4 ten to twenty years is indeed a long worryingly painful series of expensive letdowns and game breaking bugs.
so it's worded like "updated for 20 years" so it's unclear if all of those would mean new dlc. and to be honest, we don't know their monetization yet either.
Hello Simmer Erin, I have a question about the sims 4 . Recently I can't move sims from one household to another because when I do, it writes me that "the transfer is not allowed". I thought it could be because of neigbh. stories so I allowed move in/out but it still doesn't work. Don't you know why?
I don't know the cause, but it's def being reported : answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Transfer-button-in-Manage-Household-grey-out-transferring/m-p/14192111

While nobody can predict 20 years, the aim of making THIS game last the distance is highly possible - much more so than The Sims 4 was, in fact. Don't compare the two in that way - they simply aren't comparable.
@@fransmith3255 Holy shit I never knew that! That’s crazy and good to hear that about inZoi! Thanks so much! 😊
@@ramage7646 Exactly.
Still looking sooo forward to WHEN this game lauches and we all will get to play it and expiernce the awsome that is InZoi. 🤩🤩👍✌
I'll be playing this even in Heaven, even after ive longed passed
Edit: By the way, can someone suggest spiral stairs to them 🙏🏽
have seen several people ask for them in discord!
Obviously, you can't foresee all possible scenarios, but you don't want to end up like in Sims 4 where you can't put cars because "the engine doesn't allow it."
certainly, I agree. on that end, at least, the engine they are using is much less limiting and more capable
do you recall who said that about cars
They have to make it last 20 years cause it'll take that long for people to get computers that can run it LOL
😆
well, to be fair, I do think there is a sizable group that have the specs they need- assuming it runs well on the specs given.
@@SimmerErinohh so thats why your so negative about inzoi makes sense now because you dont even wanna play it yourself 😅😅😅
@@KarinaCermakova-c7n I mean, she holds a fair amount of skeptisism for all life sims. The least I'd say is Paralives. It's good not to keep expectations high, we might get surprised (like LBY)
@@SimsyHazel its deffiantly nothing like life by you lol they have put way to much money into this game already there gonna need some back lol... n krafton is a biggg company nothing like life by you lol.they have never done that before so i highly highly doubt it would happen to inzoi!
Yay MORE inZoi NEWS! It's beeb awhile since we last heard some MORE stuff about Inzoi and about Crafton. HOPE all is going well for them. Allways GOOD to HEAR MORE news about InZoi too. 🤩👍✌ Ty for posting much appreciate it. Have a good week and take carw Erin. 👍✌💖
welcome, you take care too!
assuming it does make early access this year, it may be especially quiet until they are ready to announce that
I think this game is going to do very well and its up to date with realistic graphics and they can also evolve with an graphics update on future pcs i thonk they could flesh out 20 years of it its very possible
Yes i agree with you 100% can you imagin how amazing this game is going to be after even 5 years lol 🎉🎉🎉 im soo excited❤
Wow that's interesting.
Not gonna be shocked if Sims 4 would last for 20 years too.
the game isn't even out yet and they already promise empty promises to keep it going for 20 years?! what are they even thinking!!? it's so dumb.
first let the game, full game, come out at all.
I agree I would not think that would be wise to make a statement this early in. needs to have some breathing room, focus on its early state as it is now, focus on the launch. course having some plans into the future I understand but a projection of 20 years seems a bit much
as far as the management, it's hard for me to say, they def have spent a lot less time (and maybe money idk) developing this game vs LBY so they have that on their side
I hope they will add occults and paranormal
I will still wait patiently for this game to be released. I'm just tired of the sims 4 I've tried to play a vanilla version of it but sorry without mods for me its BLAH!...I need a new change and for me INZOI is it. I've been playing sims since its release in 2000 my favorite was sims 2 when we had cars that played music and you drove your kids to school. Sims 4 went backwards to me just saying in my opinion. For me inzoi is a breath of fresh air...I'm not sure if they will get to release this year I feel it could be rushed and they should take their time with it. A release in 2025 is not a bad idea cause it can give them more time to fix things and to have a smooth running game anyways tysm for your videos always keeping folks updated
awsome video friend
When does it come out?
as stated here, unfortunately the only thing we know is that early access is still supposed to happen this year- aka next two months
20 years is a long time lol
sure is
I think that it is amazing news there pretty much saying they are confident that there game will only keep getting better and better and more playable for everyone over those years! Im so happy to hear this news it deffiantly meens they will not let the game go down the drain i think kjun is jist so passionate about inzoi and thatz why he is supper confiadent about it.. also they are quiet old school so i no there deffiantly waiting for the gstar event on novemeber 17th and then after that im pretty certain we will get a realese date im thinking the 17th decemeber as 4 weeks is more then enough in advance for them for early access as they are quiet old school and this is there pattern of the way they realese games if you look into it :) they realese them decmeber 3rd 17th or march normaly. Im hoping it will be decemeber not the march but if they are still soo confident about realese it 2024 then we will hear something soon i cant wait im sooo excited to play and support inzoi for the next 20 years because i no i will be obssesed 😂🎉❤❤❤ can we only imagin how this game is going to be after even 5 years wow lol amazing❤
Before all that is done, I hope they add teens and different heights.
seems to me you can adjust the height of characters as you wish ?
Doubtful. We’ll see what happens but I highly doubt it
it seems rather ambitious to say right away I'd say
@@SimmerErin I’ll stick to Sims 4 personally. Maybe they will do 5 eventually down the line
@@TheIndigoSystem it is possible, I hope anyway. still bummed out about rene
@@SimmerErin yeah definitely a shame but I have hope something changes
They deffiantly wont realese a sims 5 lol. All there gonna work on now is more packs for sims 4 and project renae mobile games. So yeh im glad inzoi came to the rescue! @@TheIndigoSystem
How automation, evolving technology play a role is something to think on too
Anything is possible, I think we'll get our money's worth if were willing to be patient with them.
I have read stories about the people who worked on The Callisto Protocol that Krafton pushed it to be released before it was ready, and that was part of why it wasn't as good/popular as it could have been.
Given that, it's still way to early to know the state of what the game will be on release, none the less it being able to last 20 years.
afraid that is a common story for many games from larger publishers. Don't know the specifics about that instance, but it happens too often
Thank you for continuing to cover inzoi ❤
20 years? Lmao.
I bet we have a bashing negative community for inzoi for their money milking , late and buggy packs/ updates
Just like the one we currently have for sims 4 😂
I just hope we don’t get an unexpected cancellation like with sims 5 and the other one.
sims 5 was never cancelled. they were always making project rene. now, how it's evolved behind the scenes idk. with LBY they spent a load of money without making enough progress I guess.
I don't see reason that Krafton is immediately in danger of that.
a lot of variables in what would happen in such a case.
Yall simmers and casual players out here crying about a high fidelity next gen game built on the latest unreal engine hypothetically dying makes me laugh.
Ten years of development time is nothing when you actually got a good game to work with and play especially if its still in Early Access but I guess if your only point of reference is The Sims 4 ten to twenty years is indeed a long worryingly painful series of expensive letdowns and game breaking bugs.
people having differing options isn't crying.
Nah they are just talking lmao
Same as ea but just making it sound better
I have an a c e r computer will I be able to play this game on this computer
what are your specs?
@SimmerErin 132 Gb / 184 GB used Installed app
Im wondering if Sims 4 lasts 20 more years lol
NOOO 🤣🤣
I'm guesstimating 4 DLC a year, so 80+ DLCs? 🤔
so it's worded like "updated for 20 years" so it's unclear if all of those would mean new dlc. and to be honest, we don't know their monetization yet either.
@@SimmerErin maybe, I don't think anyone would play the game for 20 years, so updating it might be a way to attract new players
