    Good preview video of the hardware and software.
    Shame you didn't do a range check or speed test within the video.

      I was kind of disappointed with the lacking of "WiFi roaming" so ended the review early without further testing...

    Will this give me signal out on the basement patio, I'm only getting "Fair" signal right now, but if I walk inside it switches to "Good" signal, so I have an outlet right where it switches to "Good" so I'm hoping plugging the extender in at that outlet would extend it out on the patio to "Good" is that correct? Basement is 1300 sq ft, so hoping it will cover it all.

    My Telstra Smart Modem2 does NOT support Mesh.
    Do I need Mesh to create a Hard Wired Ethernet Access Point with the TP Link RE315?
    Will it work doing that? I'm hoping to have 100% WiFi signal broadcast from the Access Point (so as to extend the WIfi coverage)
    Thanks for the informative video.

    Well done tutorial. I'm wondering if I can replace my Verizon router with a mesh router? After doing do I would plan to f=get an extender.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  2 года назад +1

      Depends on your router type, you need to check if it's fiber link, or PPOE connected so you can find a router compatible with it.

      @@TechTronic9000 Thanks for the reply and information. I'm sure it's not a fiber link. So I'll investigate from there

    If i use this with a non-mesh router (Plusnet Hub 2) do I have to manually connect?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  22 дня назад

      Yes, you will have to select the "extended wifi" manually. It will be like having another extra different WiFi network.

      Check your router first for 5G bands, latest firmware, etc.

    I just have a question for this item I just got it today and tried it and wifi is fast enough but if I use a lan cable it only speed up to 100mbps which is half of the speed and if I go to setting it says its max 100mbps I dont know how to change this set uo

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  2 года назад

      That is because the LAN port only supports 10/100M, it doesn't have gigabit capability.

    We have 100 Mbps internet but the modem is in the hall. My room is at the back so there is no internet access. We got Xiaomi's Wi-Fi booster too. I have internet in my room but I can only get 10-15 Mbps. There are many ping problems in games, especially in Valorant. This Wi-Fi booster is deploying 2.4GHz. I wonder if I would benefit from buying this 5GHz TP-Link RE315?

      You can also get the newer Xiaomi repeater with dual 2.4/5 GHz wireless, you can find my review for it on my channel.

    So it doesn’t do WiFi roaming. So why does it say mesh ?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  2 года назад

      It can only do mesh together with a proprietary TP Link router from a dedicated range of model series.

    does this extender works on any other router brands like ASUS?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  2 года назад +1

      Yes it works but as a regular repeater it will not work in mesh mode or roaming mode.
