A medication I take is responsible for my scalp inflammation and hair loss , however the medication has been decreased and I have less symptoms etc. I would like to strengthen my microbiome to improve my immune function. I enjoy watching your educational videos please keep them coming.

Very good info but what if we’re doing everything right and just getting sicker and suffering more because our body can’t work right with the efforts we make?

I have a similar problem and following the SCD diet has been extremely helpful. It’s hard to do, but helps. Google SCD recipes.

(Four weeks later:) How are you? Do you have a patient support community that might have information particularly relevant to you?
It depends on what's wrong, but a lot of people can eat many sugars. Fibers are sugars and they can help with digestion and resilience and the gut-brain axis and such -- I have histamine intolerance which I believe is partially a result of my history with celiac disease, as well as some other factors probably.
Sprouted pisum sativum, lens culinaris (some probably -- in moderation), and other legumes have been beneficial to me, and excesses of sugars do bother me. For months a year or two ago, I was too sick to have even a small sugary energy drink (haha), and some sweeteners were even worse (interestingly, I seem to have regained some tolerance toward one, but I try to limit my intake of it anyhow). Although I have many familial sensitivities, my family has more problems with many legumes, some legumes in particular, which I call "challenging for me," but some of those family members have other or higher tolerances for some other foods. Please expect variation, moderation, and modulation.
Strawberries are a lot of trouble for many histamine-sensitive people. I may have an intolerance to them; I haven't tested them and I woudln't be surprised if I could barely have any strawberries without experiencing negative effects. I'm just a patient but I believe many people (including myself) need to establish a "baseline" or modicum of health to help get more accurate results from treatments. Corn is also out for me, but I'm certain-ish that that's an intolerance, and not specifically a histamine interaction (contrast to strawberries). I could imagine trying a little strawberry something someday, but it's still on the short list of histamine reaction-provoking foods, even without the compounding effects of inflammation from an immune intolerance.
I seem to do better with honey than agave nectar, but not by much. (I can use both in moderation now, a year or two later, but I was cautious about small inclusions of honey -- I was very ill and wanted to be thorough, so I bought and chewed a little {tsp per month?} honeycomb from a local beekeeper. I have no idea if it helped, but I've tried worse things.) Finding my limits and using effective food combinations and adjuncts has been essential. I credit much of my success to a "wealth of diverse fibers" applied to my notably relevant celiac pathology, but it could always be much, much better. I strongly recommend the foods list which has been available for years (?) at mastzellaktivierung dot info, there is an English foods list with much more scope and context than these wonderful 20-minute videos can provide. I believe there are many entries for common food additives in addition to expansive information about other foods, and the interactions are given much more definition (edit: when placed in their context... which I can only help with in a few narrow ways; find patient communities and read studies!), which may matter even more when you find sources of your problems (I'm assuming it's unclear now).
