The latest shown Bible is absolutely gorgeous. It shows how much work you did in learning it. Amazing.

That's a fabulous collection. Happy to see the notes and annotations :) Really motivates me to waste less time and spend more time reading the holy scriptures and learning more about God!

Love the last bible with all the notes! I am working in mine in a similar way but there’s a long way to go. 😃

“Gilded edges” is the name for the colour edges on books.

The Amplified does NOT "tell you what it ACTUALLY means." It is an interpretive commentary within the text rather than at the bottom of the page. It has its place, but never as a primary Bible.
I use the ESV, as well. No translation is perfect, but they do a very good job to their translation philosophy. I get very, very little Calvinism in it, but it does well lean toward complimentarianism.
The CSB is a fine translation that I use in devotionals. There is some variation from the HCSB.
The NKJV is okay, but badly needs an update. The textual notes, at the bottom of the pages, are a great resource. However, I would recommend the CSB until NKJV is updated.
About your "chongus." If the text block is okay, you should very seriously, post haste repair that binding. If the text block is Smyth sewn and is intact, get some PVA glue and some book vinyl and replace the reinforcement and end liners. There are plenty of tutorials to do yourself and save money. It's a beautiful Bible and you've invested so much into it! It would be a shame to let it continue to deteriorate. The other option is to transfer notes and important finds into your new journaling Bible. That way you can just add to what you've already done!
Also, you can copy your "annoying" note pages and tip into your new journaling Bible.
