Trains at Watford Junction, WCML - 20/7/19

- Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Watford Junction on the West Coast Main Line, start of the Watford DC Line and Abbey Line where services are seen by Virgin Trains, London North Western Railway (brand of West Midlands Trains), Southern (brand of Govia Thameslink Railway) and London Overground.
Watford Junction as always proved to be a fantastic station with a lot of variety throughout. The station sees a lot of trains passing through at varied speeds due to trains being congested towards London Euston. I found the views to be good, not a lot had really changed about that so you can see where everything is and have enough time to prepare for the approach. Every company/brand mentioned does stop here with Virgin only calling here hourly but have a 'pick up only' policy towards Birmingham and a 'drop off only' policy towards London Euston. There were no St Albans Abbey services featuring in this video due to a train fault with the 319 so a bit of a let down but not the end of the world. Overall, I found this station a great one to re-visit, I always enjoy coming here and it is well recommended!

Indeed but I haven't seen 350 104 yet
But that class 350 horn brings a memory back wen I was in Italy. I missed my italian trains
I believe 350104 is getting it's livery refurbished from LM to LNWR.
I went there in April and I couldn't believe how many pendilinos I saw btw it was rush hour 19:00 - 20:00
Yeah it's endless but so good!
They were the first pendos that I had ever seen
41 in an hour
There was a rare 16 coach 350 and they were all in the new livery
350's head to Crewe and that having a terrible noise of that train lol 😂
For question of the video, would you accept Portsmouth Harbour for the Spinnaker Tower/Gunwharf Quays although it is not advertised in the Station itself. Maybe Portsmouth & Southsea because that has the Hovercraft to Ryde advertised on the platform on each sign. And Great Video.

Staines - the closest station to Thorpe Park! (answering your question at the end)
I think Chertsey Station might be closer
After checking again, you are right Chertsey is slightly closer. However Staines is better connected to the park via a dedicated shuttle bus running from the station to the park.
Staines and Chertsey I'll accept.
