Culion is a small town but it is big in history. This rich and unique historical walk feels like you are time traveling- a trip into the dark and hopeful past. Culion Island has always been isolated, a distant, hardly accessible paradise. But isolation found another meaning in 1904 when an Executive Order was issued to create a leper colony in Culion, shutting it from the rest of the world. Formerly known as "THE LAND OF NO RETURN" but now a leprosy free island W/ historical & beautiful story.

My fathers family was born in Culion. Family history and stories my father shared growing up on Culion as a child. He is now 82yrs old living in Canada. My Lolo was a pathologist & worked with the Lepors. I’ve been to Culion twice and will always return to learn my roots to share with my family that has never been. Thank you for sharing your experience on Culion. Not many people know about Culion & what the island did for the country. Pastor Hermie is awesome.
