Full final session at Sonoma Raceway with Golden Gate Lotus Club on 9/16/2021. Sadly, I messed up my data recording for this session so there are no overlays. New GoPro mounting location though, I like it!
Had a fun time going back and forth with the two GT4's all day and getting to know the track better! A lot of traffic out there earlier in the day but it started getting better in these later sessions. A few drivers that were well out of their comfort level in "advanced" but with no track awareness. Near miss with a Viper at the end! Next time I'll be sure to wait for the point by.

Hey Peter, I saw in your site that you’re a dealer for both JRZ and Ohlins. What made you choose ohlins over JRZ?

Hi Spencer. A few things, mainly budget, streetability, and ease of use. The Ohlins are a better street coilover and are single adjustable. At the time I wanted simplicity and to still be able to use my car comfortably on the street. As my track time and car development has gone on, I've certainly wanted more performance-wise and will probably move to a higher end track coilover in the future. The Ohlins are very capable on track though and a huge upgrade from stock, so I really have no complaints for what they are.

@@PeterSierraRacingSupply I see, yeah as much as I’d like an uncompromising setup, I do street the car. Maybe I’ll just wait until I have a beater to go in on that.

@@PeterSierraRacingSupply another question - it seems like the topgear valved exhaust is basically like a soul valved exhaust, at a much better price.
Is the street header also the same design as the soul street header, or is it a unique design? Looked different on the site

@@aisu8481 The Ohlins ride great on the street, better than stock IMO. The track performance and feel isn't even comparable to stock if you're really pushing it. You can totally do JRZ's and still street drive the car, but they're more expensive and definitely more of a compromise for a bit more performance. The longer I own the car the further I head down that road though. Aero coming next shortly.
SOUL has many of their products manufactured in the same facility as Top Gear. For the ones that look identical, those were actually originally designed by Top Gear in the UK. It does look like SOUL has changed up their 987.1 headers slightly, but the flanges and such are the same, so looks like they're probably still manufactured in the same spot. There are typically some minor differences between the two companies products, like finish and other small things, but otherwise very similar.

@@PeterSierraRacingSupply makes sense, I love the way the stock suspension on the spyder handles at low speeds, but it could use some more stability on high speed stuff. Anything with a small hill or lump makes it act out. No doubt I’ll upgrade at some point.
Haha, it’s hard to keep from traveling that road! I guess the question is, skip to balls-out race spec, or enjoy the journey?
Gotcha, I noticed soul has that fancy finish and the cool little soul badge on the valved system. It’s not an extra $1200-cool, though.
Bear in mind mine is a .2. That was the one they seem to have longer tubes and a later join, for the catted system (in the pics).
Do you have any footage of the topgear catted headers for .2 S?
