My son wants to start Judo, and me as a black belt of 30 plus years wanted to show him a rolling juji. There are tons of so called experts (mainly BJJ guys) showing this version of a rolling juji, but virtually all of them are doing it incorrectly. Yours is the only one that I have seen so far that I would show my son. I always give a sharp tug up on their belt and lift them off the floor momentarily to sink both hooks in and decide which way I want to take them. Great demo and thanks for posting this.
Great video, I really appreciated the little details re: which side to reach on, and the circular motion of the hand after grabbing the leg. One question though - why is it preferable to reach for the far leg rather than the near one?
Where I always go wrong with this is once I've put my hook in and they start to posture up before I can push their head down with my shin. Any tips? Abandon and change the attack

Thanks for your message :) glad you enjoyed it
You teach really good... Sensei Matt.. And I also appreciate the assistant judoka ..
The foot hooking the opposite side leg and using the arm to catch the leg after the roll are great details I just learned form this video. Thank you!
You’re welcome! Glad you found it useful.
I'm on my way to training right now and can't wait to try it!
Many thanks for your time and effort to post this online, Matt!
Brilliant and concise, cant wait to try it in Randori! Thanks for sharing matt!

Best videos out great camera work too!
awesome details about the different ways of attacking the arm.
Great details!
Great video!
Awesome detail
Why do you have to grab the far leg? Does it just make turning easier?
Great thanks!
Next time the sensei tells the class to try get someone out of the turtle, I'm going to pull this move off :)

Any tips on stopping them from sitting up?
At the point of turning him over, isn't it better to scissor your legs AND use your arm in every case? Since you put your whole body to use that way.
Remember to bring your heels to your but and squeeze your knees together, before sitting boack or you'll lose the arm bar, if fighting a BJJ guy.
Does it matter with which arm I grab first?
Hi
Tried this in no gi and in mma I kept slipping because of all the sweat. Any suggestions?
Yea my advice is don’t go for this but instead get seat belt and look for rear naked chokes
However it's easy to be reversed by ushiro kisa gatame....no???
素晴らしい。
That is the same Juji gatame that Ronda rousey loves only difference is she pulls the leg close to her face
wonderful
Grande
Nice video
ronda rhousey created this technique in UFC... é verdade esse bilete
Leverage for the turnover
okey..lol
