I have seen the complete version of the match with these commentators and they said that the Spanish team got a better public support than in any other World Cup, even their home tournament in 1982, thanks to all the Spanish emigrants and their descendants in Argentina. Wonderful atmosphere without running tracks and with standing sections still existing in a World Cup tournament and that beautiful low angle, bright winter sunshine of Argentina. This is a great stadium where I have been to many times as I lived near the place.

If Austria hadn't topped the group they wouldn't have played in Group A in the second phase which comprised of the Winners of Groups 1 and 3 (Italy, Austria) and the runners up in Groups 2 and 4 (West Germany and Netherlands).
Group B obviously being the opposite way round.

Austria won this 2-1, Beat Sweden 1-0 and lost to Brazil 0-1 (4pts) GD +1. Brazil drew 1-1 with Sweden 0-0 with Spain and the win over Austria also gave them 4 PTS and a GD of plus 1 but Austria had scored more goals. Had Brazil won group 3 they would have played Netherlands in the first game of the second phase. I do know what I'm talking about there wouldn't have been any reason to make my comment otherwise.
I clearly stated how the second phase worked and it's easily checked but as you obviously need to be right I'll leave you to do your own research.
