This video was brilliant. I was able to replace this sensor, very easily, and it has fixed my warm start failure. Thank you very much for an informative, clear video.

Did you happen to get a check engine light because of this issue?

Thank you very much, I will also change it this weekend. Please tell me how to rest ECU after changing it.

Can the engine still run when these go bad? Mine 2003 996 suddenly died when pulling up to a stop sign today and would restart but ran very very ruff. Seems like the drivers side bank is just not firing.

Thanks for the video, really helped me out. I don't recommend doing it with the car on jack stands, what a pain. I don't have a lift, so I got threw it the hard way.

Can you also get a check engine light if the sensor goes bad? What code would it give?

Will the 997.1 be the same as in this 996 video? I'm guessing not, but have to ask.

Very similar I would have thought, it's the same engine basically.

Your sensor came out incredibly easy! Mine is locked in right. Any advice on getting it free. I've tried pulling by hand, but can't get the right angle for solid grip; small prybar and wd40. No luck.

Why you did not fit the ground caple back to it's notch and proper position.

I would love to see a video of changing the camshaft sensors. If anyone knows of one, please send the link.

So...I'm doing this and the bolt broke. What fun. Drilled it out after breaking the bolt, after welding the 4 mm hex into the stripped 4mm key hole. Anyone know the tread size for tapping?

Hi Mark, sorry to hear that has happened. Hopefully you have resolved your issue by now, but for anyone else looking, the original bolt holding in the sensor is an M6x16.

Hi love the channel! I would to know what 9996 do you prefer? The Gen 1 or gen 2? Thx 🙏

Both are excellent! For Mike, the .1 has been living rent free in his head since Gone In Sixty Seconds came out...

      @@fcpeuroIronic since that wasn't actually a 996, just wearing it's skin 😁

They didn't show how you get the 10mm nut out. That's what I can't reach from the ground. Been trying for hours.
