- Thousands of farmers protesting at agriculture reforms have fought through police barricades and tear gas to enter Delhi's historic Red Fort complex.
They were on foot and in tractors - part of a huge rally that was planned to coincide with India's Republic Day.
Many protesters diverted from agreed routes and clashes broke out with police. One protester has died.
Mobile internet services have been suspended in parts of Delhi as security forces scramble to restore order.
The government is yet to comment on the violence, but reports say Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with Delhi police to discuss the situation.

I found my answer on al-jazeera. The government is removing protections for small farmers. Farmers fear that with no minimum price guarantee and no restrictions on middlemen hoarding that farmers will not be able to make enough money. Personally, I would point out it looks like a raid on small farms. This is a just protest.
And now the question is why is BBC not telling the whole story? Their silence implicates complicity with large corporations and hostility against small business.

But they let the farmers suffer on the roads for two months in bitter cold and did not agree for repeal of the farm laws which the farmers themselves want to be repealed.

Do you know what happens in the small towns or villages in your country? Are you more aware of what happens in the big cities in your country? When people want to be heard they need to be noticed first which happens in big cities. Or in capitals where the people who have power reside. The speed coming was 800bps (enough to send over and recieve messages but not anything else) which is an ineffective means of blocking communication. if we truly live in a country with free internet, there are NO exceptions to that rule. The way government blocked Internet in parts of Jammu and Kashmir was also very wrong. The ones who want to communicate still can but what they have done is kept a very large number of people completely cut off from something that at this point might even be thought of as a human right. I am not a politician. I support the farmers protest. I am neither a leftist nor a rightist. My One and ONLY concern is that whatever happens the government protects the citizen's access to the internet.

There was lathi charge, asu gas and many more then they replied to them. Many farmers don't know where they were going they were just following each other and they deep sidhu who was main culprit in it plays his game. When people who reached red fort get to know about it they tried to catch him and beat him but he ran away. A farmers was shoot after than his tractor disbalanced and then they started to get violent. At palwal border, farmers were beaten very badly around 10:00AM when they just started there parade one tractor also catch fire , many were injured but nobody cares. Around 1500+ farmers were injured. 😔

@@gautam4273 this clause had been addressed early and union and lawmakers were told to revise the clause, but at this point farmer unions are the one's that giving the trouble, they moved amending the bill to "remove the bill" and if the bill is removed the middle man diplomacy cannot be changed, just in case you don't know even a low grade middleman earns more than 10L and high grade middleman turnover is of crores and i believe rest you can imagine how they earn so much
