the dancing is just to keep everything uniform on the breaks , i suppose some of you prefer the opposite approach that some bands take when everyone just does anything( rock , pick there nose, twirl their horns , throw up hood signs) for 4 phrases then the band gradually comes in after the break like some programs lol
BCU is like that old school station that ur mom used to listen to. They play the same old stuff and it never gets old. They sound amazing. U can hear every moving part and counter melody. They are an awesome band and one of my favorite to play against when I marched at SCSU. I just wish they would expand their book a lil bit.
@btwTrumpet2011 It adds to the overall stand presence. To see 300 members moving in unison as one, and showing off high levels of musicality is not easy. Plus it is a testament to how organized the program is down to the t. I actually like it.
I like both bands. They have different styles. I am just happy that BCU's band director, Mr. Wells, made a wise choice to attend Norfolk State University for graduate school. It is paying off.
SLMANIAC98 they simply dance during tuba breaks instead of just stand around like most other schools which isn't a problem. I do admit sometimes during the game the tuba breaks are too long but y'all actin like all they do is dance. Other schools could just as easily put a dance in their tuba breaks they just don't and there's no problem with that
@TravelerofFortune I understand that the 5th is too display, there's no arguing with that assessment, but as just a fan it's cool to see a band able to dance in the stands.
Did I just here a part being "inverted" by BCU? Either someone has had their scholarship snatched or maybe they changed the arrangement slightly. Either way it sounded pretty good. It wasn't out of context and fit their sound well.
@bmoreed A 5th is suppose to show off your musical excellence. They had plenty of time to dance during halftime. If they spent more time on improving those elementary arrangements instead of dancing they would be awesome.
That's some Bull. The Spartan Legion has the better arrangement. Don't worry FAMU is back in 2013. We'll see what the Pride gone do then. Oh yeah THE LEGION bout to see 350 / 280 in the block in 2013. If you thought the Baby Legion was powerful you ain't gone be ready for this here. BEHOLD THE GREEN AND GOLD! Oh yeah and I still show love for the Wildcat Pride. Politically Correct. HBCU Unified.
boy some of these arrangements are horrible they are very interesting intepretations from both bands but whether i like them or not i must say bcu sounds and looks very polished from music to the band movements simply superb. but i much rather like our 5th qt battles in the swac much more nasty this is to pg for me lol
lol this real shit i dam near fell asleep on the battle literally in the swac we go for blood this battle was exactly what you said dead it was almost like who cares. but i love bcu though they are awesome. battles in the swac we dam near leave with busted lips and shit the battle so intense. this was like a fight with two people just pushing each other no substance lmao im like really where they do this at smdh

Bruh the fact that BCU has 30 tubas is just mind blowing... each tuba could have played their own part.
Did NSU just add that last part to Dirty Diana?? I dnt remember ever hearing that part

nsu drumline is nuts lol thats something bcu doesnt have they play like high school kids
NSU has given BCU A run for thier money 2 years straight and and not to mention NSU got smaller while BC got bigger.

BCU needs to realize this is a 5th and not a dance off!!!

What are they supposed to during the tuba breaks??? Stand there
@TravelerofFortune I understand that the 5th is too display, there's no arguing with that assessment, but as just a fan it's cool to see a band able to dance in the stands.
What is the Name of that Prince song that NSU played....Cause they straight snatched with that song

BCU kills me with they organized crunk sessions lol
@SigmaMan8 thats why we are different no need for "unison" parts each section holds its own weight.
what happened to the bones?
but during the 5th tho?????
@bmoreed A 5th is suppose to show off your musical excellence. They had plenty of time to dance during halftime. If they spent more time on improving those elementary arrangements instead of dancing they would be awesome.
I'm talking about BCU and you know this man!!!

But all the way
the legion shouldn't even be close to the pride. Their twice the size... C'mon man LEGION WINS HANDS DOWN
jonathan Davis size has nothing to do with how good a band is. Why y'all tryin to downplay Nsu like they aren't a good band
@SLMANIAC98 I dont know that dancing sort of livened up dont you think?
OOOOOO!!! SOMEBODY LOVES YOU BABY!!!!! *YES LORD!!!!*
Stay together sucks. although i still feel bcu is the most complete HBCU band
What difference does it make if they dance? I'm guessing dancing is strictly for the field...yall will find anything to nit pick at...smh
NSU is giving BCU a run for they money!!! great song selection and the articulations are CRAZY!!!!
@btwTrumpet2011 You need to get out more....
Exactly. Play sing dance. LOL!
the most uniformed band in all HBCU's, you guys look like robots.
exactly shit is dead

what a waste of my life watching this. NSU vs Gambling would be a nice battle tho
chickmagnet225713 its grambling dude

lol this real shit i dam near fell asleep on the battle literally in the swac we go for blood this battle was exactly what you said dead it was almost like who cares. but i love bcu though they are awesome. battles in the swac we dam near leave with busted lips and shit the battle so intense. this was like a fight with two people just pushing each other no substance lmao im like really where they do this at smdh
