I feel Roma’s reaction to winning the UECL gave it authenticity. That’s how West Ham fans saw it. If a team like Roma, with a CL winning manager, can get this happy, we should take it seriously.
I think that’s now had a knock on effect. No doubt Villa fans will see the party West Ham had and joy it spread and say “this is worth going for”. I bet you hear numerous references to West Ham from the villa camp next season when the UECL is mentioned.

as a chelsea fan I feel unhinged for being this proud of West Ham, but that was football magic🤩
As an Arsenal fan I noted after 20 minutes that Fiorentina were playing cynical football. Go near them and they go down like they've been punched in the face or kicked in the midriff. That was the moment I started (may Gawd have mercy on my sole, hehe) rooting for the Hammers. BTW the penalty should also have been a red card, the handball was deliberate because great, smashing, super was in a goal scoring opportunity moment, he was one on one with the keeper on goal and punching the ball back was a deliberate foul to prevent a goal scoring opportunity, automatic red card under the rules. Outside of that I thought the ref did OK overall.
As a Chelsea fan I am happy for Zouma and Emerson. And I am happy that trophy hunter Harry Kane didn't join Westham last summer

As an Arsenal fan, I’ve always had a soft spot for David Moyes. The levels of disrespect he received after joining United at a difficult time stained his image more then it should have, you simply can’t deny Moyes’ staying power.

Brilliant second half IMO, the best team won at the end of the day. If the match had have gone into an extra 30 minutes I think the win would have become more comfortable for the Hammers. Oh, I'm Arsenal BTW, congrats on a way above expectations season.

Why? Fiorentina are a mickey mouse team that would get relegated from the Premier League. It's one thing having 11 players that can knock the ball about but another entirely that can create genuine chances. West Ham are a local rival of mine so I wanted Fiorentina to win but after 20 minutes I switched sides because of the shitty cynical cheating tactics employed by the Fiorentina players, shoot, the penalty should have also have been an automatic red card, let alone after watching it detail on VAR. Disgusting, shit team that cheats, go near them and they pretend they've been punched in the face or kung-fu kicked in the midriff. The Hammers only faced one attack on goal and they conceded, other than that Fiorentina were toothless in the final third, pathetic in fact. Great, Smashing, Super Bowen attacked twice, one player, 2 goals. West Ham were close to getting relegated this year, we spanked them both times in the league, but if you think Fiorentina are any better than fucking Southampton then you are fucking deluded mate.

I’m a villa fan and I heard other villa fans, at the Brighton final being snide about it. The way I see it villa are in Europe for the first time in over a decade and if we win it I’ll be celebrating like it’s the champions league
Winning the Prem is a far shot for many of these clubs. Especially with the wealth in the top teams now. Competitions like this give you a golden ticket into winning massive European trophies and cementing your legacy. Conference > Europa > Chamipions League. Sacrificing your season (bar from being relegated ofcourse) to focus on these competitions can pay massive dividends. Would players now sign for West Ham or Villa, even tho Villa and West Ham finish 7th and 14th respectively in the prem. Its not just a trophy, its an oppertunity for bigger and better
As a Gooner, I shouldn't care about West Ham.........but I do, for 2 reasons.
1) It's a European trophy won by an English club.
2) I do actually have a little soft spot for West Ham, I live in the fabulous London over spill County called Essex so I know a shit lot of Hammers fans...... they're EVERYWHERE here.

As a Chelsea fan we really disliked Liverpool especially that mid 2000 cups rivalry, so I wanted West Ham to win that final. I was rooting for WH in that game, felt like WH should have won in normal time but LIV at that time had that comeback aura.
So happy to see WH win a silverware and not just any trophy but a European trophy.
