It really grinds my gears how they keep pointing out the transmission tunnel on cars with power to the rear wheels. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO PUT EACH LEG ON EACH SIDE, NOT TRY TO FIT THEM BEHIND THE CENTRAL CONSOLE. FUCK.
I don't understand how cars still have some things as options. Nav, Xenon, nice looking wheels, etc. This stuff is pennies for manufactures to add now.
Went to an Infiniti dealership in Leeds, outside it was jam packed with unsellable cars at ridiculously high prices. Showroom was nice but sales people shocked to see someone walk in. Depreciation on these cars sees an alarming steep dive in value, servicing and spare parts are expensive. Should I buy one, forget it.
Like all infinity cars, this car will depreciate like a lead balloon. Expect residual values of less than 40% after 3 years. So in effect, best to buy a A3 or A Class even if they are slightly more expensive upfront as they will eventually cost less to run.
Great informative review Rebecca ! I wasn't aware that Infiniti didnt come to the UK until 2009. Infiniti has been somewhat unsuccessfully selling inefficient yet powerful overpriced tarted up Nissans for years here in the US ! If you wanted an overpriced tarted up Nissan altima or maxima, infiniti had an expensive v6 option for you. Now facing irrelevance, and possible extinction, they had to team up with Mercedes until they were able to come out with the new 4 cylinder turbo Q50, and Q60 coupe later this year (here in the US). But all that infiniti sarcasm aside, this new little crossover seems like a weak effort.
+Sandouras I hate when people make ignorant comments like this. Infiniti was the first to introduce the Spindle grille in their Essence concept in 2009 (designed in 08). Lexus first introduced this to their cars in 2010. The entire design language of this car is inspired by the Essence concept, not a Lexus smh
Mercedes Benz is back to being reliable nowadays ... astronomical parts prices and insane labour cost has sadly became the norm with all car manufacturers.
+Driver6M you've offended me through your overstatement. Benz went through a period of making shockingly- shit cars but they built themselves back again. There's a reason they made the, rated, worlds best car and motor trend driver car of the year.
Truth been said, there are uglier cars on the road today. the front grill is a miss, but other than that, not a too bad design. Looks quite good seen from the side. Interiorwise, nut much to complain. But it hasn't got a BMW, Audi or Mercedes batch, and if you like this sort of cars, you will get more car for your money if you go to Mazda.
WHo the hell recommends an automatic over a Manual? What kind of Car reviewer are you? We'd all kill for manual modern SUVs, we're not 12 years olds stealing our mums cars..Automatics are for people who don't have liscenses pffft!
The whole point of buying a Japanese luxury car is to get a refined ride and premium build quality without having to contend with the APPALLING reliability of the German manufactures. A Mercedes suspension and drivetrain coupled with an engine from Renault!? No thank you! 😂😂😂😂😂
Renault engines are among the best in the world in terms of reliability ... if you are not looking for power (both Mercedes A class and Nissans use Renault engines). French engineering is generally world class in many many domains and cars is one of them, you just have to look at the history of French cars to see that ... vintage, modern or F1 cars (many time world champion) or rally cars (also brilliant and world champions). The French "issue" is the cat culture in France, French middle class preferred affordable, low powered, cheap to maintain cars whilst Germans focused on premium and fast cars. In recent years there had been a shift in strategy from French manufacturers offering high performance world class hatch backs and more luxuries ... and even a new brand focused on luxury : DS.
For the love of the planet you should stop recommending diesel cars (as often the case!). Diesel is a nasty nasty thing and, it is not only about the CO2 emissions, it is about the toxic gases that come out of the exhaust (catalytic exhausts have improved that but it is still worse than petrol), the larger particles (now filtered ... until the filter gets blocked), the smaller particles (also partially filtered) and the extremely toxic free radicals which nobody talks about. Also, diesel engines are a disaster in town and in particular at traffic lights and junctions where pollution is often measured at toxic levels. Admittedly there have been some progress made but why spend so much effort trying to improve something that is flawed when petrol engines are cleaner to start with? And, unless you are a van or a truck driver, all-in cost (buying, running, servicing) of owning a diesel is, on average, very very close to the all-in cost of owning a petrol and that is even without taking into account possible tax hikes on diesel/diesel cars or driving restrictions (as seen in other countries).
+Photoandcargeek Agreed, current diesel engines are still much dirtier than current petrol engines, but unfortunately in most other respects they're better. At a given engine capacity, a turbo diesel engine will generally have more torque and therefore better performance low down in the rev range where you need it than a naturally aspirated petrol engine. A diesel will also use at least 20% less fuel (and diesel is currently slightly cheaper than petrol here in the UK, albeit likely not for long) and a diesel car will usually cost less to tax than an equivalent petrol model. Granted, turbocharged small capacity engines like the Fiat T-Jet and Ford Ecoboost have the low down grunt of a diesel, but they're still not as fuel efficient and not all car manufacturers offer turbo petrol engines other than in high performance GTI models. With all that in mind, it's hard for consumers to ignore the day-to-day drivability and economic benefits of diesel (assuming they drive enough miles to cancel out the extra upfront purchase cost) when the environmental drawbacks have no direct or immediate impact on their lives. Until the UK government taxes diesels much higher (the new VED scheme for 2017 won't do this), then diesel cars will continue to appeal to UK car buyers and reviewers will continue to recommend them.
+Ben A yes and no as all new petrol engines have turbos and are of lower capacities than their predecessors whilst having more torque than before, figures that compare well with diesel engines, and using more or less the same amount of fuel as diesel cars. And of course petrol engines are more environmentally friendly. Diesel is a thing of the past, hydrogen and electricity is the future (and potentially batteries once we master some new techs like batteries made of condensers) ... and petrol is the best fossil fuel for now and a few more years. Anyway, I find it sad that car magazines still recommend diesel cars to the masses, sad and irresponsible.
+Photoandcargeek A turbo petrol and a turbo diesel engine of the same capacity will not use anything like the same amount of fuel. Take the Infiniti Q30 as an example: the 1.6 turbo petrol is rated for 47.1MPG, whereas the much bigger 2.2 turbo diesel engine is rated for 62.8MPG. Obviously official UK MPG tests hugely overestimate fuel economy, but real world figures will still maintain a large efficiency gap between petrol and diesel, as diesel is intrinsically a more efficient fuel than petrol. Diesel fuel itself contains around 15% more combustible energy than petrol, and diesel can withstand greater compression before combustion, therefore generating a bigger bang from the same amount of fuel. I agree that electric and hydrogen are the future, but I’d estimate we’ll need to wait at least a decade before there’s sufficient infrastructure in the UK to fuel widespread adoption of either technology. And like you say, battery efficiency needs to be improved, as at present electric car batteries can’t store the same amount of energy as in an equivalent volume of petrol. Hopefully by then the price of electric vehicles will also be more reasonable, as even a Tesla Model 3 is out of reach for most people.
+Ben A 100% agree. Also, it's worth noting that UK road tax is calculated based on test CO2 emissions and Diesel engines tend to have much lower co2 than petrol engines of similar capacity. So surely they would recommend diesel engines. Although, I do agree, diesels have many flaws
+Sirion bro not fair. British cars are some of the most beautiful and elegant in the whole automotive industry.. Ashton Martins.. jaguars in general respectively their coupe and convertible and even the range is beautiful and elegant in my eye. I'm not even including the Bentley's and rolls.
I'm a simple man I see Rebecca I press like
me too i see rebecca i press dislike
I see Rebecca I get hard
+Michael Andreas you dislike her cuz you're an ugly gay spring roll face
Cole Phelps im just a guy who want to equalize like and dislike.
i see british, i see free welfare land. i like
Fantastic looking car!
Give me one of those over the German rivals any day of the week.
FUCK.
Right lol they don't seem to get that it needs that and there's just has to be it
And then what? Let your head stick in there?
I really like the look of this. That colour is beautiful too
I don't understand how cars still have some things as options. Nav, Xenon, nice looking wheels, etc. This stuff is pennies for manufactures to add now.
One of the most beautiful looking cars.
a nice design finally.
Decent looking car
I didnt know Infiniti was only introduced in the UK in 2011. We've had infinitis in the US since the the late 80s.
+Samwise Drogod lucky you
fred may I'm sure a lot of the models we got in the US were sold there as nissans, however.
Should I buy one, forget it.
that's car people for you fam they are cunts the lot of them.
There go my chances. Congrats Rebecca!
Is there a reason you keep calling it a q30 when it is a qx30 you are reviewing? Do you only have one variant over there?
Don't you mean Mercedes GLA not A-Class?
infinity qashqai?
Was it designed by Blind Pew? It's looks like the Mazda. ie Pug Ugly.
How does this rate again the Volvo V40?
It's a fine car, however the A Class it shares a platform with is a bargain in comparison. It makes the Mercedes look positively cheap!
Great Rebecca!!
I would rival this car to the DS4 as it is no match for an A Class, 1 series or A3 any day
no banana storage space? that's a fail in my book.
Rebecca, please review 718. Rebecca+Porsche = complete
Can u do a review of the Audi Q3
surely with the crossover/hatch styling of the Q30 it's rival would be the Merc GLA no?
Very futuristic looking. Make mine a 1949 MG.
Looks better than its Mercedes counterpart IMO
yeah, they change the name to Q30, the previous name of this model was Mercedes GLA version 2.0 =)
looks very similar to the gla ;)
nope it is just you, the parts, chassis and engine comes from mercedes a class though... LOL
I didn't hear car noise/exhaust , does it not make noise?
this thing will likely depreciate badly like the Q50...so I hope the Q60 coupe will too and I can grab me a bargain!
This car is based on the Mercedes GLA
A Hasnath they’re both exactly the same underneath. The gla is just a bit taller
Is it just in my ears or the sound is quite muffled?
Very beautiful looking car
I came here just for Rebecca
same as Mercedes GLA-class
except the infotainment which does not seem nice in this Q30 installment
It's the person from car buyer!!!
Wow...but it is reliable??
Like all infinity cars, this car will depreciate like a lead balloon. Expect residual values of less than 40% after 3 years.
So in effect, best to buy a A3 or A Class even if they are slightly more expensive upfront as they will eventually cost less to run.
Or buy a used Infiniti ^^
The girl and the car!!!
over a 4 year period which includes maintenance and fuel costs the Tesla model X is much cheaper. the Tesla also has a 8 year warranty.
over a 4 year period which includes maintenance and fuel costs
This is the reason why companies like Mercedes, Ford and Toyota do not like electric cars as they have very low maintenance.
This Infiniti will come way cheapeepr than any Tesla, even over seven or eigh years.
Very nice, very nice, but please give me the 3.7 V6 :(
its made in washington not sunderland, why dose everybody, even nissan say its in sunderland, its not
Aren't those seats straight from Mercedes too?
every single part, engine, chassis... the only thing that is different is the shape outside. =)
I would love have this car :(
soo..Navigator should be standard nowadays ?
For a £20,000 car? YES!
I would rather buy 100e real navigator (or even use my phone), than get some shitty chinese navigator in 30k €(or under) car, that works 1/10 times.
Great informative review Rebecca ! I wasn't aware that Infiniti didnt come to the UK until 2009. For the first time I here for the girl and for the car !
I hope my country love stick shift car again so I can buy a real stick shift car...
Could they copy Lexus any more?
+Sandouras I hate when people make ignorant comments like this. Infiniti was the first to introduce the Spindle grille in their Essence concept in 2009 (designed in 08). Lexus first introduced this to their cars in 2010. The entire design language of this car is inspired by the Essence concept, not a Lexus smh
Gobin Giritharan How mad are you?
Sandouras Not mad at all, just informing the uninformed :)
+Sandouras I notice you had no comment on the facts he just dropped on you lol
Donta' Nichols i just dont care either way bitch
It looks just like the GLA ...
This car is not called im not GLA hahha
that's a good one mate... lol
Did mercedes pays you to make bad review.. car looks fantastic but it's high priced then europeans whats not good..
so this is a car manufactured by "nissan"... but the chassis, parts, engine came from "Mercedes"? why cant we just call it "mercedes Q30? =)
looks like mazda 3
This car is such a mash up, looks like a Mazda, has Lexus' grille, is based on Mercedes and comes with Renault's engine.
It still fails to make an impression.
This car is a Bukake of design and parts from other car makers
Does the Q30 come with unreliable engineering, appalling parts pricing and arrogant dealer staff from Mercedes also? Mmm tempting
Ah yes the judgy BMW fanboy. Shhhh
Mercedes Benz is back to being reliable nowadays ... astronomical parts prices and insane labour cost has sadly became the norm with all car manufacturers.
+Cv02 Who said BMW was any better? If we are making assumptions, I've offended a benz lover ;)
+Photoandcargeek Not according to consumer reports magazine.
+Driver6M you've offended me through your overstatement. Benz went through a period of making shockingly- shit cars but they built themselves back again. There's a reason they made the, rated, worlds best car and motor trend driver car of the year.
I would kill for an SUV like this with a manual transmission!
So its a Mercedes with infinite badges on it.. even the steering wheel is from Mercedes haha
It's Rebecca, not the car. More of less car.
It actually reminds me of a Mazda!
No push button start? Lmfao. What a joke.
+chancy319 can't turn a fucking key?
WHo the hell recommends an automatic over a Manual? What kind of Car reviewer are you? We'd all kill for manual modern SUVs, we're not 12 years olds stealing our mums cars..Automatics are for people who don't have liscenses pffft!
Or if you have a dodgy hip.
4:20
No. No, it didn't.
This company is leaving the country in 2020
beautiful car... well its better then juke lol
at least juke has got a nissan engine on it... japanese engines are really really terrible on reliability. (wink) =)
+hunyango -_- Haven't you heard of Subarus Boxer Engine???
cuz not all Japanese engines are not reliable frankly...
But in my opinion truly :D
Haha, no bananas today :)):)):))
looks like a MB-GLA
That car is sooo tiny from the inside I'm still trapped inside the one I tested. Please, get me out of here!
For a supposedly luxurious car, the interior and exterior doesn't really look that sexy.
looks like a copy of Mazda 3' design..
The whole point of buying a Japanese luxury car is to get a refined ride and premium build quality without having to contend with the APPALLING reliability of the German manufactures. A Mercedes suspension and drivetrain coupled with an engine from Renault!? No thank you! 😂😂😂😂😂

my French cars have been great compared to the over rated German garbage I've had, more Renault fine by me !
+Photoandcargeek talk to RBR
doesn't has this brand in my coyntry
Bet there is a lot your country doesn't have.
Nice hair dear..
bìa nhìu
no bananas :(
So this car has the crapness of Japanese infotainment systems paired with the reliability of a French-made engine? I think I’ll give it a miss.

+ray britton Jensen Interceptor, MGs, Lotus Evora. Yet it's Aston Martin, not Ashton.
+Firemarioflower typo bro

What a completely irrelevant car!
waste of RUclips's bandwitdth
