  • Hey there amp lovers,
    In this video i'm comparing 6 legendary Randall amps using the same guitar, same riffs, no post eq, no compression.
    All amps eq are set at 12 o'clock and gain level is set at 3 o'clock so everyone can listen to the actual difference of each amp.
    I know many would like to listen also to the Satan also but unfortunately there wasn't any available..sorry :)

    RD 45! Sounds awesome - thick and no sizzle

    That was really cool! All different in their own way. Also hearing them mixed in with "band" to see how they each cut in the mix was very interesting.

      It sounded like he had the channel switched to tight, which is best suited to situations when one is using low tunings and a high distortion pedal where the gain needs to be contained. Unfortunately, this has a lot of people here thinking that the amp sounded anaemic.

    Dat Thrasher doe! I'm actually surprised about the EOD, that had the grind and brightness to sit well...and also, I'm relieved on my V2 gas, I thought it would sound as tasty as the T2's ive jammed recorded thru, but its probably the dullest sounding of the bunch...great Vid tho! \m/

    The Rd45, Eod88 and thrasher 50 were honestly my favorites.
    667 was a close runner up
    Kh103 was surprisingly the one I liked the least.
    But, none of them sounded bad by any means, and I’m sure any of them with more tweaking would shine a little brighter!
    But that

  • @sinisterminister9920

    EOD88 sliced thru the others like warm butter. I’m an owner of a RG1003 and love it but yeah that EOD was the most hellish

    It must be hard to decide between amps when the settings are identical. I mean one amps 12 can be others 10 or 14, one amp might sound too bassy but when compensated the sound could be better than its competitors. EOD or V2 for me.

  • @davel_ggw
    @davel_ggw 5 лет назад +1

    They all sound great in their own way, and with some knob tweaking, and maybe a TS in front for some, many more good tones can be had I am sure. I actually prefer the RD45, it just has a nice, full, complex sounding distortion. Not thin sounding, not too loose either, it just sounds good. But to me it also sounds almost identical to the 667.

    I love the KH for its wide frequency response with obvious multiple scoops to get the clean 90ish+ sound but not be a recto, the 667 is great, modern but we will see what players change it to, it's pretty liberal in sound.. kinda a starting point, hollow with potential and great breakup. The others are stationed gig worthy tones in their own right, you should review the state sounds of the early days of solid state nevermind the fucking Cabinets, good god, we slew them on a daily basis yet still they survived until the breakup was deemed "old".

    Dude thanks! Well doen comparison that actually means something to us. Unlike so many amp reviews of metal amps by guys that dont play metal lmao. My only critique (and be sure to piss on it if you disagree) but the open chord with and without band wasnt necessary, leave out the one without the band I guess. Or do them all without the band if people wanna be all purist and shit. Anyway, as a thrash, death, black metal player I think Id go with the Thrasher for the money and put a Precidion drive in front of it. Anyone disagree? please let me know and why. Thanks

      Stratus Axarlis Me too!But it seems like you could dial in just about any of these with the 667 and all its controls.Three thou for the 667 head alone ,I'd probably get the 88 and a cab for 2 and call it a day!

    • @MrKalavrezos

      nowhere in between..each one has totally different voicing..thrasher is what it says, eod is similar to jcm800, 667 does it all and rg is again something different..

    • @MrKalavrezos
      @MrKalavrezos  6 лет назад +2

      well it always depends on the settings as well as the guitar, cab etc..that being said those settings didn't work for all amps but that was the only way for the listener to check all the different voicings ;)
