@@christiandavis1810 Are you sure? I went and looked back over the playlists for Anime with Alvin, and I could only find the vid of where he does the food that Chihiro's parents ate, not the food for Noh Face's feast, or Zeniba's food.
"When you're somewhere far from home and you feel very alone, there's nothing like eating something warm and comforting to bring you back" - Alvin 2023
I really wanna see someone make the chilled cucumber soup from A Series of Unfortunate Events (movie)! I know it’s meant to be sort of disappointing but I always wanted to know what it would taste like 😆 Andrew or Alvin could definitely make it delicious 😋
there is little more satisfying in the world than holding a big, warm and fluffy bun in your hands, and knowing you're about to bite into it :') this was enriching in so many ways Alvin; thank you so much, every time. 🙇🙏💖
This takes me back to the coin operated steamed bun vendor machines outside the local corner store from my hometown in korea. One continent and nearly 2 decades later, it's making me want some sooo bad
Wait, wasn’t that covered ages ago? It was by Alvin, Andrew did them a while back I think. I’ll edit this when I find it, hold up. No sorry, that was feast of fiction ages ago, mixing up my cooking channels, whoops!
Replace the brown sugar with honey while you're at it? Or, make it less sweet and serve with honey to dip/drizzle. Extra points if the honey is made by bees gathering pollen from saffron crocuses.
Now that I think about it, I can't tell if saffron honey (not saffron infused honey) would be SUPER expensive, or actually kind of reasonable priced. The reason saffron costs so much is the labor needed to harvest the threads from the flowers. Why not get bees to do all the hard work for you?
Lovely food from Spirited Away is exactly what I could use to bolster my courage right now as I’m in a complicated moving situation of my own. Thank you for a wonderfully sweet and nostalgic look at the first Ghibli movie I ever saw, one that’s near and dear to my heart.
Will Arcade with Alvin be tackling a couple of sandwiches from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet? I know there's so many to choose from. Maybe the ones Arven makes in the titan story line? I'd also like to potentially see real-life interpretations of the herba mysicas.
I’m wondering if I can modify this recipe to recreate the buuz from Final Fantasy XIV. The ones shown in cutscenes look like giant buns like this, but I think they’re filled with spiced meats. Maybe I’d have to look to Mongolian cuisine to get the spices right.
Watching this while making Mizuyokan. While I do make my own Anko for Ohagi with Adzuki I grow in my garden, for expediency and a smoother texture with jellied desserts, I use store bought.
It's been a long time since I had a bao, I really want to make one now That being said, can you make a Anime with Alvin focused on japanese/asian bakery items? Like melon bread or Pineapple or Taro beard?
lol Alvin...the most American thing you've ever said. "Just keep pinching and hope it doesn't explode." I feel that, gonna keep watching and pray it doesn't.
Even though the English dub is awesome, I'm so glad you went with the original Japanese audio for the intro clip. The original always beats a dub, no matter which language!
You have to remember, Chihiro is a lanky little child. Her hands are probably very small! With that in mind, I'd say you got the size just right, if not maybe a bit bigger than what Miyazaki had in mind. All that said, nice job! Looks delicious!
Studio Ghibli movies always had such tasty looking food, and Spirited Away is no exception.
Except for grave of the fireflies, which had no food, but tears. Oh the tears 😭...
Allll the ghibli food!
Maybe one day Babish will cover the pirates' food cooked by Sheeta in _Castle in the Sky_ (1986).
@@Laszlo5897 yeah and the wind rises too... no food, only tears
@@Laszlo5897 I don't know, I sure remember those hard candies and the rice portage
I love how Alvin looks so happy everytime he eats something he made on this channel. It's obvious he really likes cooking and eating his creations :)
You could remake literally every single piece of food from this movie
Did you watch the episode they did on the parent changing feast in the beginning of the movie? I looooved it
And I'd watch each and every video.
roasted… NEWT!
He should
I remember this movie. I was always fascinated with all the food.
Let it steam until it shows some resistance when poked (Alvin quietly) “just like me…” Made me smile!
I'd love to see Alvin tackle some of the dishes during Noh Face's feast, as well as the food at Zeniba's house!
Andrew already did that in a previous video!
@@christiandavis1810 He did? Well then! I should brush up on my Babish! XD

maybe for an anniversary or episode special?
That bun has lived rent free in my head since the first time I saw Spirited Away, the fluff is unmatched

I honestly always thought those buns in the movie were roast pork or something, very cool!
Sometimes they are! That would be a char siu bun.
@@emilygillock3803 And they taste amazing!
There are various fillings. My personal favorites are minced pork with scallion and custard filled. Custard buns are my weakness.

I prefer puttanesca spaghetti more considering multiple chapters were written about this one dish.
Hahaha he looked so cute biting the bun. Ghibli food always looks so scrumptious.
I've heard that Director Hayao Miyazaki always cooks the dishes himself prior to drawing them.

Spirited away is such a great anime. This dish looks amazing.
It really is
careful calling it an anime if miyazaki is nearby.

TURNED ON SPIRITED AWAY THIS MORNING BEFORE WORK BC I FELT IT AND MY BABISH DOES A VIDEO!
Alvin's face when he tucks into that bun 🐻
Do it with chickpeas and tahini! Some rosewater and orange blossom water too and you're looking at a baklava / midde-eastern inspired bun!

All the food in Spirited Away looked delicious but this was the one I most wanted!
I love watching this series ❤ Spirited Away was my first Studio Ghibli movie.
✍️
Mine was Princess Mononoke but Spirited Away is also a lovely film!
with how fluffy the one in the film looked i always thought it was one of yeast variety that was baked, maybe a rice bread to keep the color closer
The movie itself is just excellent. But making the food irl, is really impressive
Alvin always has excellent taste in every way. It's one of my favourite series, ngl.

Maybe do Team Rocket's Spicy Foods from Pallet Party Panic episode
I love Spirited Away and I love big buns. Great vid Alvin!
This series is my favorite! You should try to do air nomad fruit pies from Avatar the Last Airbender next!
ive made these before, and it was the most satisfying process.
Could you do something from Hades? Maybe the gyro and fries combo, or nectar and ambrosia, or even the ambrosia cake?
Fantastic! Always love these Alvin episodes
I would love to see some cookies and bread from Gütiokipänjä in Kiki's Delivery Service! 😍
I honestly want to see them tackle the fish pie.
Honestly I would want to see Alvin try a Toriko recipe and see how he adapts
Yes! More classics!
Petition for Albert or babish to make lambs fry from rdr2 while playing house building theme
Can your next Arcade with Alvin video be making either:
Stupendous Stew from Super Mario Odyssey
Any dish from Fire Emblem Three Houses
