I fully understand the cleaning with the knife to loosen old keyboard, but the soldering, does it have any real effect or advantage or could you not melt the tips and it will still be fine?
Ło panie, ja chcę tylko dysk na SSD wymienić a muszę ze 20 śrubek wykręcić, masakra jakaś. Dzięki za świetny film, teraz wiem co zrobić i w jakiej kolejności, żeby czegoś nie spaprać.
I have a question on the keyboard itself. Can the top and bottom parts of the keyboard be separated? On my desktop keyboards, I can take the membrane out of the case and separate the top half from the bottom half and clean it out. Is this possible with the membrane keyboard in the laptop? I appreciate the answer.
Hi, I think no with this kind of keyboard. Construction is other than desktop keyboard (more delicate). So it is possible to take off every single key but it is risky and is possibility to destroy scissor mechanism. I don't recommend.
New keyboard originally was without backlight so keys wasn't fully transparent but little of light penetrate letters. Most the light penetrated between spaces. On that time backlighted keyboard was hard to buy so this solution was better than no light.
Yes. I tried removing the battery before this (to reset bios and password), and left it out for several minutes. When I put it back together, then the laptop became stuck on the acer screen. I now have the password and can get into BIOS but some settings regarding boot mode do not save when I change them.
Hello! I found the solution. The bios were corrupted when I reset them, and I found the password. I fixed it by finding the correct bios and reinstalling them. This was hard because ACER doesn't give you the zrpbios.fd file. Thanks for your help!

I have a v5-551
thx
Fine, thanks.
How do you reset BIOS on this model? Also, mine is stuck on ther "Acer" loading /boot screen, it won't go into recovery mode, or windows.
Try remove CMOS battery for several minutes, if no results, try run without hard drive and check POST is running. Can you access into BIOS?

If I remove hard drive (and optical drive) it says no bootable device and goes into boot manager.

Hola
Это просто пиздец, до чего же всё стало не ремонто пригодным.
