I play both and I think it depends on the matchup which ones better. Also specifically peeling enchanters can be a lot of fun (cockblockin the enemy, correct positioning etc.) - except for yuumi maybe
@@manuelmanolo7099 it may just be for the niche of enduring brand and other poke mages... but i feel like if you wanna counter mages, insane engage lockdown and peel is alot better than healing and shielding.... and vs other enchanters well what is a slow and healing shield spelle when everybody is hard CC'd for 3 secondd and chain CC'd a few seconds after items give good shielding, good healing... id say hard CC is king in this high damage meta cause its the only thing that can stop it, and the best thing to enable it... 1 samira and 1 braum can kill everybody if she R's after he hits everyone 1 time with passive from behind his E... her r insta procs stun and everyone dies... its just more consistent than the very scared defensive peel enchanters provide... every situation theyre weaker overall... have an early game bully comp? Good you want hard engage to facilitate that abuse.... hard scaling late game team? Well yea enchanters help keep them alive but how about pick a tank that can hard CC for peel to save their team and also engage insanely advantageous fights thanks to CC and feed their hyper scaler early and accelerate that spike... enchanters when played well are more annoying... theyre strictly defensive and feel good cause your KD is nice because touching an enemy with your presence of breathing on the ally who gets the kill= assist... but in terms of induvidual agency and supports ability to Diff the fight and carry the garm which is needed sometimes in solo que.... tank support is the only way HARD CC lots of it....
It depends A LOT on the adc you play with. If you have kai'sa or Samira sure tanks will be great but if you play with zeri or kog you will never be as useful as an enchanter

I LOVE playing against engagers as an enchanter/mage main cause they're easy to harass and easy to out sustain and outscale or bully out of lane early. My only worry when going against engage is the skill and dodge level of my Adc. Hookers are more scary but also not uncounterable.
