Dear Geraldine..I just remember how much I laugh..every Sunday afternoon in a poor Cinema theater,in an Eastern block country,together with other poor children....Charlie was some of us..a good friend..giving us a hope..thank you..be bless in Eternity..❤🙏🤴
Tina Rider: I don´t know in which eastern block country you´ve been raised, but my I spent my childhood in socialist Czechoslovakia. Yes, cinemas were poor in comparison with today´s complex, but projected films were better than today. And each Sunday in one of two possible TV-channels was show "Clown and his world" full of grotesque with Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton etc. In 1960s Czechoslovakia gave birth to so salled Czechoslovak New Film Wave, which born also worldwide known directors such as Miloš Forman or Ivan Passer . One of directors of this generations, Jiří Menzel, whose films were after liberalization of 1960s many times prohibites, although after "fall of communism" said: There was of good feature in ex-culture censorship: censorship of aesthetics.

OMG! I remember Ms.Chaplin telling this hideous story about her father picking up the boiled trout on the plate..and kissing it..I'm surprised that the restaurant owners didn't throw Charlie out of the place.
If you're reading this..Ms.Chaplin..I've seen film footage of your uncle Syd Chaplin..and he was a hell of a lot funnier than your dad..and he was also a very talented juggler
