This is your lucky cigarette and you must smoke it last and may not give it away. If someone offers you a cigarette by holding the pack towards you, it's extremely bad form to take the lucky.

wrt the Snow White thing it's funny I don't think I've seen a single person on the entire internet including youtube and all of social media say that ANY of them are better than the originals and yet they all make like $500m at the box office every time. It's been a longstanding criticism about children's movies that writers tend to be lazy because you don't necessarily need a good story to make kids want to see it. Good children movies can easily appeal to all ages, but there's a metric crapton of children movies with bad to terrible writing that still made bank.

So, to explain the "flip a lucky" thing, and for context, I'm an American in my 40s, so this is going back decades to my youth, and I don't know if this is even still a thing anymore, but it used to be that when you first opened a fresh pack of cigarettes, you'd immediately pull out one cigarette, flip it, and put it back in upside down, and that would be considered the "lucky" cigarette, that presumably would probably be smoked as the last in the pack. I don't know why. It was/is a stupid thing that I don't know the origin of, but that people just did because everyone else was, I guess.
AFAIK, that stems from soldiers during wartime who were lucky to survive long enough to be able to smoke the last cigarette in the pack... So,it became the "lucky cigarette". Don't know if that's actaully true, but it sounds plausible.
It is still a thing in Poland as well, at least in some circles.

Flipping a lucky is an american smoking practice where you flip one cig to face down in a pack to smoke last, this was started in world war 2 and it was said that if you reached said cig you were lucky to be alive.
