    any one remember the late 70s 78 79 , documentary just after the news on a friday night about 10.30 every year about the town moor ,me and my sister were allowed to stay up to watch this before we went to it in the saturday morning, needless to say we were both like its christmas in july , while mam and dad played eddie cochran on there hifi from callers after this , and drank home brew ,

    Like many things the "Hoppings" has had it's golden era and that being the fifties and sixties it boasts that it is the largest "traveling" fair the world whether that is still true I'm not sure but if you walk from one end to the other and back you've covered over a mile in distance.

    Alas it's all over now rain stopped play.
    They should have changed the fortnight to avoid our annual summer moonson season perhaps the council had objections to this idea or wanted more money.
