Yosh makes such high quality exhausts- nice pic & bike sounds great. I had dual Yosh CF cans on my '11 N1K and they were awesome, especially w/the DB killers removed. Deep sound w/out being obnoxious, loud and no drone.
If you delete the cat and add fuel controller it turns in to a TOTALLY different animal. Sounds better, more hp, less weight, you could use the same can.
Girlfriend never wanted to ride it with me so it went bye bye. Only have space for 1 toy at the house so I'm thinking a buggy next or just get a cheaper bike for myself.
Do you recommend the Ninja 1000 or is it too much power? I used to own a Ninja 650 and I absolutely LOVED that bike but had to sell it for financial reasons. I'm finally in the market for a new bike and I'm wondering if the extra $5-6k justifies everything you get with the 1000 i.e. bigger engine, inline 4 etc. over the 650?
That's a personal preference entirely, but if you want the power it is manageable. There's even an option to turn the power down to 70% while stopped if you needed more adjustment time or it is raining. If you have a lot of highway then the 1000 isn't a terrible option, but if your roads are more city or twisty, the 650 is probably more fun. Keep in mind that the 1000SX weighs in over 500 lbs.
I drive a Ninja 650 and love it, but I am going to buy a Ninja 1000sx for my next bike, because I like touring and the cruise control, rider modes, easily adjustable rear suspension, better side bags, the better sound (subjective I know :-) ) and the increased power are my motivations. But in the twisties the 650 is probably more fun, lighter and extremely easy to ride.
Good stuff, are you going to remove the cat? And if you have what are your thoughts? I'm thinking of getting the Yoshimura slip-on with a carbon fiber muffler and removing the cat.
@@patony_1288 nah, not concerned about that. They're sufficiently tight, but I didn't crank them on. I checked them after another 100 miles and they didn't back off at all.
I’m having a hard time with the clamp, for whatever reason it’s not a tight fit around the muffler, and because of the clamp I can’t seem to align it to the bracket on the top 😩 it’s such a pain in the ass
Try loosely fitting the bracket first to help you line everything up, slide the clamp onto your new exhaust, then fit the slip-on over the breadbox, line it up, tighten the clamp, then tighten the hanger bracket. Mine didn't go on how I like it on the 1st try either.
The sales rep I talked to (Tim at Yoshimura) said they're not installed when shipped and can be purchased separately if needed. I didn't see one, but I didn't try to open anything either. Edit: I'll take a peek when I get home today.
@@jasonmccoy6928 I'm just seeing a cylinder with mesh that leads to the link pipe, nothing that looks like the insert that Tim linked to me via email and I didn't see one in the box when we opened it for install.

Regular seat and bike is standard height. At 6'3" I can very easily flat foot both feet. I'm going to guess that around 5'10" is the tallest you can put both feet on the ground before having to switch to 1 foot or lower it.
@@jayjay5586 honestly I got the akrapovic full exhaust it was money but worth it. It's is quiet when it is warm until you get on it has a nice pop only when quick shifting sounds good
@@ch3ckrd258 I'm thinking of removing the catalytic converter or doing a full exhaust and tune. Potential downside is doing either means at least a couple weeks of downtime due to shipping out the ECU for a tune. Odds are that I don't want a full exhaust that badly haha
Just what I wanted a little deeper sound but not too loud
If you aren’t going full exhaust, the level of noise is very acceptable for the touring riders.
The fly by sounded awesome 😎

Can you do a vid of your rear trunk / rack install please 😃
Sorry Mark, bike is long gone for a Hayabusa now!

Got a ZH2 instead 😀
Nice review👍, Yoshimura sound is the best.
Thank you!
Good stuff. I agree with you, definitely sounds better with the Yoshi pipe over stock. Mind if I ask why you sold the bike?

The guy I sold it to took the cat off and he said he's not disappointed at all
I like the sound of the OEM but this one is not bad either.
How much weight is reduced with aftermarket exhaust and which one is better compared to akrapovic
I haven't heard the Akrapovic in real life with the stock header so I can't make a fair comparison, but I do enjoy the Yoshimura sound!
So what will happen if I decided NOT to use the rubber, Could I pull out?
To each their own lol
I got my muffler yesterday and in the instructions it mentioned you have to torque the bolts ,How come you just tighten them but no mention of that?
Do you torque your bolts? The instructions say that.

May I ask,If install this yosh muffler can I still install Kawasaki side cases on the bike?
