I love how he plays. Most of the time when he fails, comic hilarity ensues, making my day a lot brighter. And considering he posted a Spelunky episode on my birthday, this day just got awesome.
The times when you think you have to rope your way out of the whole snake pit, when you could have benefited greatly from mining your way out the side. The time when you thought that you had to go near the angry shop keeper to open the chest to the Udjat Eye. The time when you felt that you were making very awesome Spelunky plays and managing your resources wisely. These are the sad moments that bring tears to my eyes.
Northenrlion: One of the reasons you die at times is because you always run. Michaelalfox slows down and walks on occasion. Once you slow down a little, he actually will kill shopkeepers in the first shop if possible. Once he grabs the shotgun, he fires rapidly in the black market. Some of his best runs come from that.
Hey Northernlion, despite the fact you aren't a real crazy famous youtuber, I, or we, really appreciate you. You sell out amazing gaming content for the channel, you keep in touch with your fellow subscribers, and you are a great commentator. Thanks for the endless hours of entertainment. At the end, I found myself screaming "USE THE STAFF" on the inside. But, I can understand forgetting about doing that. The temple is an evil place, even without the angry shop keepers.
Really good video. Even though I've beaten hell and only 2 achievements stand in my way from 100% completion in this game I still believe that northernlion is in fact a better spelunky player than me. He just hasn't been able to catch a fucking break. But thats what makes this series so great. Knowing that on any certain day a video could pop up and northernlion could get to hell, or even beat hell his first time there! Exciting stuff, man.

Northernlion, your Spelunky LP is my favorite LP. Saying that however, I wish you'd start thinking more strategically. For example, you didn't really have to throw Pewdiepie down the snake pit, you could've easily gotten a skull or maybe even a rock and done that. While he did survive, it was a silly risk. Secondly, whenever you have to carry an item and a damsel, always deliver the item first, leaving the damsel in an unexplored area is always super risky while going back for the item.
The Scepter is like the Pony in Isaac. You just need to use its active effect more often. You could have well killed that shopkeep that killed you there. Sadly, no such luck.

I like how the damsel fell right into the exit in the rushing waters level and NL didn´t even realize it.
