    Thanks for your video very informative. I just ordered BC racing DS for my base 97 C5 😊
    Noted mid point and 3 clicks right towards H

    I've had my BC Racing coil overs for 3 years. This was definitely worth the money. Easy to adjust ride height and ride comfort. Makes a great difference.

    Outstanding, that was really pretty easy. Good shocks make a huge difference on almost any car, and shocks have come a long way in the last 10 years or so. Better technology feeding to the street from the world of race cars.

  • @emilehamm1577
    @emilehamm1577 3 года назад +7

    I'm really tempted to do this to Z. My only concern is the upper shock mounts. The weight of the car will be transmitted to a point (the upper shock mounts) that wasnt designed to hold the weight of the car. I know guys race them with coilovers but what I dont know is if they have any extra reinforcement since it is a racecar.

    • @VetOnVettes
      @VetOnVettes  3 года назад +3

      Very valid concern that I thought of as well. The way the rears snug up to the bracket/frame I'm not too worried about. The fronts have a gnarly steel washer built into the coilover which is nice. The hydroformed frame is incredibly strong. I know people that have ran them on C4's for years which is a inferior design with no issues. Also the Z06 is not a heavy car. Only 750lbs per corner. They may make a front reinforcement bracket. Need to look into that. But yes, totally get your concern. 🤙👍

      My thoughts exactly. I think I would want to find a strut tower bar before diving into that conversion. I like my selective ride control feature too much to make the swap right now anyway! I wish there was a way to keep that feature when upgrading the suspension.

      I’ve had Pfadt coilovers on my c5 for over 8 years and 20k miles, set all 4 corners really low 1.5inch space and a high spring rate(very stiff), awful to drive on bad city streets but awesome on highway and track.I can take a left turn at 50 mph, hugs the road. Johnny O’Connell fat sway bars help a lot. I haven’t had any issues with strut tower. Still very solid.

    Omg killin me. 😅😂 I’m ready to order a set of these in about a week and I am seriously anxious. Get rid of this jittery suspension. Feels like it has a mind of its own on the hwy. I already had the entire suspension down this past winter for bushings. So a c/o install will be simple.

      I have an 1100 hp, 11,000 original mile 01 z06. I have over $120k invested. I’ve never regretted anything more. All the money and best parts in the world can’t keep this thing together. If you ever wanna know what not to do… just ask. Stock power train is all good… adding power is a bad idea! Those coil overs will be a great add on… have fun!

    • @35057

      @@bradcermak6834 yeah I agree. I had over 36k just in parts in my 2000 camaro and it was temperamental. Not high hp but hair triggered NA car …. I sold it in 2012 for $10k. Paid $22k for the car…. It’s def a money pit…. My z06 is cam only essentially but sometimes I regret modding it. Nothing drives as nice as stock. I don’t care what they say. But the BTR stage 2 na cam does have great street manners. Or maybe I just tuned it right

      @@VetOnVettes Some of our Vette club members are gonna road trip it to Bowling Green next weekend. We're getting on the track at NCM and I'm giddy about testing my Z for the first time outside of mountain curves. I put GM T-1 sways on mine and love how it rides like a rail. Hope they serve me well on the track.

    Any sort of 1 year update? How do they handle in curves? Any weirdness over rough pavement?

      There was no negative reason for me not going with them. They both had great reviews and same price point. The deciding factor was that I had $500 Amazon store card credit to use. And only bc coilovers were available on Amazon 🤷🏼‍♂️
