I am neither Assamese nor oriyah, but when I was living in Guwahati, I had the privilege of eating Assamese Pitha , black sesame seeds and oria pitha....both are yummy
I didn't know that Bengalis also eat pitha like us ( Assamese). Pitha is an important food for us nd we enjoyed it a lot. Nd this pitha is called " tekeli mukhot diya pitha" in Assam nd it's my most favourite pitha 😍
Yes we Malaysian Indians also make them. At home it is steamed without putting the flour mixture into any type of mould. It can also be eaten with a little ghee or banana. The best part is all races in Malaysia like it.😅
Kerala also. We can use bamboo or other utensils used for steaming. With coconut we sometimes use jack fruits, plantain etc also steam it. Called puttu. Other items we use more fine rice flour
😊I think Pithas and with coconut and jaggerry are common in all rice - eating states all over India ! I'm from Orissa ...and we make a variety of pithas , steamed , fried and similar to Dosas , I've friends from Andhra and Kerala , who make something similar , only they're named differently . I recently learnt that ppl in Singapore also make a Pitha similar to the first one in this vdo , and it has a different name .. To me it looks like everyone here ...is looking at the ' literal Elephant in the room ' only from a different angle ! Let's just enjoy the Pithas , by whichever name they're called wherever ..and celebrate the fact that we do share similarities in our cuisines ! It's called ' Unity in Diversity ' 😊

We call the first one at Assam as Ketli pitha or Tekeli Pitha. It is very tasty and yummy when served hot with Gakhir Chah (milk tea). Love from Assam. ❤
Mai hoom Srilanka se. Hum log bhi banaathe hai aise. Jugri aur coconut ek saath milake thoda sa pakhaathe hai. Phir aata ke beech me rakh ke steam karthe hai. Very tasty. We telling to it "koam pittu"

You showcase some amazing fusion creations yet keeping the traditional taste intact. Love the way you represent these recipes visually👌👌.

In jharkhand we call first recipe bhakka and 3rd one is Arsa but we fry the arsa. Generally we make it in winters and this is a traditional dish which is made for the whole family in big amount
In Andra Pradesh we call as kudumulu made with the same ingredients and we used to cook in an idly cooker, and it is a famous dish for Ganesh chathurdhi festival.
I'm chhattishgariya, we called mada roti.. Gudh or nariyal ya til ka ball bich me, chawal k aate se roti bnakr cover krte h. Or boil krte h... Bs ban gya... 😋
That sounds absolutely delicious! Mada roti, with its unique combination of sweet fillings like jaggery (gudh), coconut (nariyal), or sesame seeds (til), wrapped in rice flour dough and then boiled, is definitely a special treat from Chhattisgarh. It's wonderful to hear about different regional dishes. Thank you for sharing this with us! 😋

In Tamilnadu we use same ingredients and do in different vessel and shape. But v used to call it as Puttu
Yes we Malaysian Indians also make them. At home it is steamed without putting the flour mixture into any type of mould. It can also be eaten with a little ghee or banana. The best part is all races in Malaysia like it.😅
And Malay traders sell it as "putu piring" 😂
Kerala also. We can use bamboo or other utensils used for steaming. With coconut we sometimes use jack fruits, plantain etc also steam it. Called puttu. Other items we use more fine rice flour
Yes Puttu in Puttukutti, sorry if I said it wrong
As I know , Puttu doesn't contain jaggery, as Puttu is served with kadala curry. But yes one can definitely add Jaggery.
Shob gula pitha onk shundor hoise.
