What's that in the foreground? I dread it's what I don't want to think about: a dead little owl - is it their youngest that died? (I hope I'm wrong but it is possible unfortunately). Birds do tend to neglect their youngest.

That is a dead rabbit that the male owl brought in to feed the babies. All the young owls did very well and they all made it.
