Personally, I believe that at a certain point in life the age gap will inevitably affect the relationship. I don't feel like I want to raise a youngster who could be my son (or even my grandson, for that matter). And NO, love is not all that matters. As an older guy you must consider what will happen when you are gone. Why should I put a young guy through all that ordeal? It might be kinda okay for others. Not for me. I'd rather stay alone, thank you very much. In this type of relationships I see a young guy looking either for a suggar daddy or a paternal figure which was absent from his life. OTOH, I see the older one worse...so, I won't express my opinion here, but you can guess it. Talk to me again in ten or 15 years and let's see how this worked out.

I figure the age difference is difficult because a younger guy is typically more sexual and vibrant than an older guy. A younger gay is more...out and an older guy is going to be more hidden. Culturally older guys and younger guys are different. I know these are stereotypes but do they apply to you two at all?

@@MikeAndAaron I figure there's four possibilities here. The first possibility is the older guy acts a lot like the younger guy. The second possibility is a younger guy acts a lot like the older guy. The third possibility is a hybrid each of you is acting to some degree like the other guy. The fourth possibility is that you have a third guy to give the younger guy what the older guy cannot give the younger guy.
