there are two wavelengths for infrared flashlights. 850nm and 940nm. it's very important to buy the right one. which wavelength is the vx870?

@@TMS5100 Hello ! I'm not sure... Without the anti-IR filter, a sensor is capable up to about 1000 nm, so 850 nm and 940 nm lights should work anyway ! I use an 850nm light with some Sony cameras without any problem. PS : Sorry for writting so lately

The landfills in the Outlast world must be filled with dead batteries since they only last for a few minutes. If I lived in the Outlast world I would seriously consider going back to fire instead of battery powered lights.

You can buy nightvision light or LEDs. And IR filter (10-20 bucks) to block visible light and shot at day time outside.
Regarding flashlight people recommended this one:
Evolva Future Technology T20 IR (or other T20 brands). Will buy when will have camera :)

What is it’s battery lifespan? I’ve been having something fuck with me when I try to sleep at night and want to capture it and show some sort of priest... my typical night sleep is about 6 hours but I wake up here and there so I started sleeping during the day...
You can run it from the AC adapter and bypass the battery. Then your only limit will be your SD Card.

Can you turn off the IR light from the camera and use a third party IR torch (flashlight)? Or do I just cover the lens 2:45 with a piece of tape and use the IR flashlight then?

Technically speaking, if the camcorder uses an IR light of its own this would mean that an external device light a flashlight would work as well.
Yes you can off the built in ir light of the camcorder then use an external ir light source

Thank you so much. I have the same camera, only another version, the Panasonic HC-WX970, and it works the same. I didn't knew there was nightvision. I was wonder if this camera had nightvision, and yes wow it has :D.
Thank you so much for simple explanation. Now i only have to figure out how to film at night on 4K with nightvision off, because the video's at night (also outdoors) are still grainy or become unsharp because of the ligth. Then the camera cannot focus or focus to recover to sharpness anymore.

Very good info and video. I bought the V380, problem with the night vision on my model is there's no infrared option, only color. Thinking I might return it and go with the 4k, the controls on the 4k look like it's easier to navigate as well. Thanks again for making this video, it helped me a ton

Thermal is way too much for a camcorder what you need dedicated thermal goggles or something you can’t just add a thermal camera to anything

Why on some camcorders the night vision is in black and white and on others it's in green yet in green or black and white it's infrared I don't understand?

The use of P45 phosphor screens creates the white image. P43 for green. P45 phosphor is a newer technology and more expensive. Some say it offers more contrast.

the info i have not been able to find on these cameras is the filter in front of the sensor. the visible light filters block IR so is this somehow fit with 2 filters - one that works with visible light and one with IR?

I received the product but there is no mention of customer support - no website, no e-mail address, and no phone number. I am having problems with this product and cannot find an answer. My picture is very, very blurry, and I may be doing something wrong, but there is nothing in the owner's manual about this, and there is literally no contact information with this product - no website, not e-mail, no phone number, etc... Amazon is allowing me to return it, but I was hoping to find an answer so I wouldn't have to return it. Please help!!! STAY AWAY FROM ANY ANCTER PRODUCTS!!!

Can I ask a question please? Is there a camcorder/other which can be left to film indoors in the dark for about 5 hours please?
If you need to film indoors for 5 hours, you'll want a cctv camera. Some of the new ones have micro SD card slots so you can save to the camera. No handheld type of camera will last 5 hours on battery. You could ac plug one in but depending on what recording mode you're on, you might run out of storage on the SD card.
Is that a wide angle lens in front or what's mounted on the camera by the lens. The LEICA?

$800 bucks whoa too much for me, haven't found any better brand name with the Night Vision, and if they do have it there to much Hondo $$$, bought a Zohulu for almost $300 bucks i sent it back and just bought a Lumix DC-FZ80 and only paid the remaining difference not more than $200
How do you like the Lumix?
This is 3 years ago but the HC-VX870K goes for around $650 and has pretty decent night vision.

But i don't really know know if you can use Protable IR lights, bought a small one with Hot Shoe, the Lumix picks it up some what but the Cammon does not like i mentioned i don't know to much just want to be able to take Night shot and on occasions be able to use a Night Vision mode hopefully without having to buy a fully capable camcorder even though there Nice like the one in the nideo so temping to want to buy one.
