  • Some figure bases are boring, too boring, it's about time we spiced them up to make a top tier figure base. One that makes people go "Wow!". Join me as I replace Plachta from Atelier Sophie's figure base.

    wow this is a great idea! I will take note to get also dollhouse and small accessories for a more boring base I have and get creative as well ^.^

    • @Battletide.
      @Battletide.  Год назад

      Another thing you can do doesn't even require you to replace your base... for example, if you have the 2B figure, you can get robot parts / limbs or just get a small robot and take it apart and put the scattered parts around her feet as if she just cut them all up. Just adding some props/accessories to the default base can also spice it up.
      Either which way, hope you have fun getting creative. I know I had a lot of fun just looking up props.

    The creative base adds more personality to the figure! Nice idea and applaud the effort,,
    My only concern is that everything might fall apart the second you move it around 😅

    • @Battletide.
      @Battletide.  Год назад +1

      That is a good concern, but, it's pretty secure now if I move it "slowly". I had to move it a lot when making this video.
      But, it wasn't without faults. I had to make a custom stand for the magic flying books because they kept tipping over and knocking everything over.
      And even the stand that holding the gold alchemy book would fall over all the time.. so I cut popsicle sticks, stain them, and glue them under the stand to prevent it from falling over when I moved it.
      Still not 100% perfect... but nothing moves if I open and close the door of a detolf, so that is a win in my books. Haha.

    Late to comment here but thanks for this video it helped with the main issue Azure Lane Agir figure (Actoys) has... the 38.5cm circle base, who ever thought that base was okay for collectors needs to look at the average size of display cases because it wouldn't even fit in the Ikea Milsbo. I used an old base from another figure and drilled 4 holes for the main pegs, did temp fix for the flag and ordered 3 iron blood red decals.

    • @Battletide.
      @Battletide.  3 месяца назад

      Nice! Yeah, some bases have been insanely large which really make it hard to group figures together or fit them in small display cases. But I am seeing bases get smaller, for example, the Bondrewd figure has a really small base, and it has a weighted bottom to help with balance. I kind of like this route.
      That being said, it is also a lot of fun to make customer bases if you have time for it. And thanks for sharing.

      @Battletide.  Год назад

      It really does, at some point it's like... do I buy another figure? Or do I get a bunch of props? And I used to spend hours looking up or shopping around for figures... and now I kind of do the same thing for accessories.

    Lovely video you did such a nice job of her base it’s truly beautiful 😍 did you end up glueing it in place or leaving it lose so you can use the pieces for other diorama sets? Can’t wait to see what you make next 😊

    Do you have a guide how to create Pop Up Parade custom acrylic base? Thank u

    • @Battletide.
      @Battletide.  7 месяцев назад +1

      I unfortunately don't have one right now. I have bought acrylic disks on Etsy and have made them. I just never made a video on them.
      They shouldn't be that hard to make, it all depends on the PUP. Most PUPs sit flat into the PUP base with foot pegs going directly in them, those are the easiest to setup. Basically you just need to drill accurate holes into the acrylic base.
      For PUPs that have like an action pose, and have a middle piece between the figure and the base. You might have to get creative. I've seen some of these middle pieces come off, if you get lucky and can pull them out. For ones that don't, I wouldn't break your PUP base to get them out, you might have to improvise and make your own. It's really a case by case basis.
