I have an E20D. It's 4 years old now. I also have two taylors, a 520e and a 416ce. I prefer the Eastman to the Taylors in every way and it is my GoTo. Selling the Taylors.
Really good, Robison. Based on this I ordered the E10 OM. I love the Hog. But the E2O had all that bear claw on the top, nice to look at. But its the sound, the hog. Thank you
I want a guitar that combines both the mahogany and rosewood tonal characteristics. The OM to rule them all Muhahaha! THanks for the comparison :) They sound great. To anyone with experience with all the shapes out there, would the OM be the most versatile? A sort of jack of all trades guitar.
Ra3D After having owned/played numerous acoustics from dreadnoughts to parlors, I 100% personally consider OM’s my favorite. This is mainly because of what you alluded to, they really are a “jack of all trades” type of guitar; a Swiss Army knife if you will. They do absolutely everything fantastic, and are so comfortable. More comfortable than really small guitars even, as small guitars can feel a bit awkwardly small, and dreadnoughts are pretty cumbersome. The Santa Cruz OM/PW with rosewood is the best OM I’ve ever played.
I think a grand auditorium would be the most versatile guitar. The OMs are great for finger style but they lack the body if you’re a strummer. The GAs however handle both well. For strumming, you can’t beat the powerful dreadnought. The solution? Get them all. ;)
☑️ I'm so totally sold on the Eastman brand after years of domestic made high end high priced snobbery over and against anything made oversees; anyhoo , my next confession is mahogany is my learned and preferred tone wood , and EIR standard although great also ; I had an ignorant bias towards EIR in my early years simply because it was pricier and occupied the higher numbers in a builders hierarchy of models ; but nope , all that misunderstanding clearly erased over time experience and maturity during 40 years and sixty acoustics later ‼️ 🤔 🥸 🤓 I have now acquired five higher end Eastman acoustics and love 'em all 😜 🤑
Nicely done, you can really hear the difference, exactly as you described, between the mahogany and rosewood!!
01:10 Mahogany
02:30 Rosewood

Have you played the Taylor 324ce?

This is the best redwood vrs. Mahogany I"ve heard. Super clear. Thank you.
Redwood?
I'm a rosewood guy. I heard complex over tones deeper bass, rounder highs, not thin or tinny. Rich chocolaty rosewood goodness.
Thank you. That is very helpful.
Hey Robinson! Good to see you're back in the game.
loved that tune you played
that metal thumb pick is freakin brutal.
Yes, it kind of added a harshness to the demonstration.
I've owned the E20 OM for about 3 years and it's the best guitar I've ever played. Got rid to my expensive very high-end guitars.
Same here. It sounded fantastic out of the box and now four years later it sounds even better.
What were you playing before?
I just ordered an E10OM. I have a Martin OM-21, so I don't think I need another rosewood om.
Can never have too many rosewoods! Love the om21.
Great comparison.....deeply appreciate the quality of your work here!!
Would these guitars work for bluegras ?
Try a e10d or e20d
@@seanpyrtle5603 Absolutely. Played dreds for years picking bluegrass but prefer OM's now. 13-56 strings and a thicker pick will drive it just fine.

You may like walnut back and sides then. I think that walnut is the perfect sound IMO
You’d love a nice solid maple guitar
🧐Beautiful 🐻 claw adirondack spruce top👍
If you could STRUM the guitars that would help tremendously.
