I see American Akita in there a little bit the best part of KNPV dogs is they add some of the best stuff.
This dog is not scared of anything. He is very well trained and knows exactly what to do and when to do it (or not).
That said it is true that a lot of k9s are trained in a way that is not right, even when trained by professionals. When a dog works, he is supposed to do everything perfect and that requires intense training. These k9s are machines and need to be tuned perfectly. Dont confuse intensity, focus and fear. They wait for a command and that supposed a very focused dog that many see as a dog that is afraid. They are actually very happy to do what they both have naturally as animals (predators) and what they are trained for. When I train a k9, i always work in order to have an obedient dog, not a submissive dog, which is what too many trainers do unfortunately, i agree.
All in all, you will have the true dog lover who will have a perfectly balanced dog and the ones who train dogs because is a pure business. It just depends on where the dog is going to end up. That said, I know a couple of k9 officers in Santa Monica and I can tell you that their k9s are absolutely superbly trained and loved (Boris and Rambo are just of few examples. The k9 officers in Santa Monica care for their dogs in an incredible way. k9 officers have something extra I believe in the law enforcement. Also, much respect for these on motorcycle as their lives is at risk every time they are on their bike. In any case, police dogs as I happened to know some of them are perfect family pet and when they work, good luck if you ill intended.
Anyone who doubts Santa Monica PD has great k9s (Malinois for most I believe) should attend their annual dog show. I never saw one afraid of anything and certainly not of their handler. The demonstrations are a great show to watch and understand why some get the wrong idea about these incredible animals.I would testify to the same as to the LAPD. k9 officers rock in my opinion. Any other officer who goes on vacation does not have to think about work. A k9 officer will always think of his partner even if he is in paradise swimming in warm waters somewhere on the other side of the world.

I have a 125 gsd. Hes is trained protection dog. If the trainer had hurt or did anything wrong that I didn't approve of I would stop it . He has some his job 2 times. First was when I was getting gas at a BP station. Tje giu came out of nowhere and tried to get money, rex came out of the car and attacked him held him down while I called 911. I didn't release him until they showed up. The second was with my kids, a guy came to the house and rex was letting him know this is my turf. When they guy didn't leave and started acting crazy my son released him and chased the guy back into his car . So. They are very smart loving dogs. But they will bite and protect the ones they love.

Ich bin mit meiner hündin mit 7 monaten ohne leine durch die sbahn gelaufen der hat nichts interessiert ausser was macht herrchen bei der das manko abwarten ist horror für sie haha da dreht die durch xD das find ich bei dem wauwi im video wieder total geil was ich soll liegen okay herrchen entspannung in der situation is bei dem hund ehm über 200% da aber dann wieder beim laufen rute drinn herrchen dreht sich zu mir ich zucke und geh in die entschuldigungs position auch wenn herrchen garnichts gesagt hat vorsichtshalber sorry wenn ich das hier schreibe aber in der situation sieht man wo vorher fehler waren die nicht nur durch mehrfaches training versuht wurden zu verbessern das sieht schon nach gewalt aus...

I think that a lot of people that have done some comments have not idea what those kind of dogs are doing to reach this level of obbedience and how much WORK is behind this little short "show" of what a trained dog can DO. And this is a Utility DOG not a PET. Those dogs are the perfect body guards...loyal and really intelligent. But they need leadership and WORK...and as You cannot make them tired by playing or running....training is really good to make them tired. Rememeber those kind of breeds are not dogs for living room they LOVE to WORK...otherwise they get crazy and ill really easy. I just hope that they will not ruin Dutch shepherds or malinois like it happen with germans ones. :-(

I believe this dog is a Mali/Gsd mix, if that’s the case it will not be hard to training him, but very difficult to handle him in a daily basics.

No. It s simply an brn x-mechelaar...So he s 99%malinois...Working lines malinois have often large heads and mouth...No need to cross him with an akita or something to enlarge the head,you just have too choose the good parents and the good combination... Crossing with an akita won t give the same types of work and sport behaviours.It won t be so good than a selected malinois...
@@connardvirtuel2645 Brn # dogs do not mean that they are pure Mal. And dog with an (x-) specifically indicate a mix of some sort. Brn #s are only a number in a database not a pedigree.

The behavior of the dog doesn't look like the handler is working without violence especially by the turns the body language of the dog shows that he is really afraid.
First thing I noticed as well when the handler returned after food refusal. Definitely complusion training.
I’d be surprised if I saw a dog in these sports that _wasn’t_ trained with compulsion tbh. Majority of these kind of dog trainers stick to their traditions (like compulsive training and being the “pack leader”) they sadly don’t believe training is possible without it
It's not possible for guard dogs, that's why. In sight hounds and retrievers it's totally different, those are sensitive dogs.
Also compulsion training is not abuse, dogs learn that way in the pack (at least in territorial breeds), it's their nature. Although this doesn't means that you should hit your dog, the thing is that dominance begins with the behavior of the dog first and normally begins from the litter.

Beautiful animal, nice big head. In fact, one of the nicest Malinois I've ever seen! For those offering negative criticism; you may want to view some of the training videos the owner has chosen to do. You may well be enlightened with what you may see? My personal experience is with German Shepherds; 30 years +. Type? German show lines with strong working capabilities; wolves in sheep's clothing. I've been around enough trading sessions, gone to more than my share of Schutzhund clubs to be able to spot abuse, I'm not seeing it here. Heads not down, no flinching and no fear in the dog's face. This is an intense dog that I'm sure has been through rigorous training to achieve all that this animal has. This is the type dog these companies who advertise executive personal protection dogs; pay good money for.

It looks like this Malinois has been mixed with either a GSD or Akita.
definetly an akita... if it was mixed with a german shepherd it wuld look relatively the same as a malinois the only off factor wuld be the coat... i saw alot of belgian and german shepherd mixes and they definetlly dont look like that

This poor dog is afraid of his handler. He’s supposed to be fearless, yet protective, proud while obeying commands, and willing to die in order to defend. He won’t do any of that, unfortunate for the owner. Owner doesn’t know what pack leader means.

so many comments about the dog being fearful, I wonder how many of the people saying this have a mal. They can be absolutely submissive to their handler one second, and the next instant a deadly missile. They are a very quirky breed for sure, dont be too quick to judge.

Imo its lazy training. The difference in the dogs body language when theres no possible reward present compared to when there was makes it evident. Also the lip licking looks more out of stress than from eagerness to work. Too much pressure used on this dog. You can make any dog handler sumbissive and do long routines with them, just because the malinois is quick and bounces back from being submissive fast isnt an excuse to train like that. Thats why half these "balanced" trainers who mostly train mals and gsds wreck pet dogs with prong and e collars because they dont have the skills to work with the flow and character of the dog
