I’m not sure it’s that vital except for gaining fans. There’s 9 players missing who arguably would start any premier league game if you include Jota, Diaz and Gakpo. So whatever team gets put out in the US isn’t a fair representation of what our team will look like come the opening day of the season. I don’t even know half the names there and Im fairly certain a lot of them won’t get any premier league minutes this season. I know all the big clubs have this issue but it makes pre season a bit of a joke and nearly meaningless

The Premier League should play all opening Week1 matches in the US. It comes at the end of pre-season, any the home fans could grow to accept it.
