What you may not realize is that we in the West are ALSO living under the domination of multinational corporations, which have arguably emasculated national governments, so that they cannot carry out serious economic reform. And our national debts are so large that new social programmes or vast infrastructure projects would be prohibitively expensive. It is expected that the private sector will do the heavy lifting. We have dug ourselves into a hole from which we cannot escape.
Now China may be willing to help you, but you must realize that their assistance comes at a terrible price. I do not believe for a moment that they love Africans specially. However they ARE intent upon becoming the superpower of the 21st century. Have you heard ot the Eurasian Belt Road Initiative?
If it were possible, if past injuries could be forgiven, I would like to see the West and Africa cooperate in a new kind of relationship. For us Christians, sub-Saharan Africa is a source of great hope, for the West has lost much of whatever 'faith' it once had. Now African preachers are bringing the Gospel to the West.
      These are new times indeed.

Who among us is not evil? Christ addressed a crowd, starting with the words, 'if you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children.........'.
(Romans 3:23) 'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.'
That is why we need a Redeemer. And NO political leader can ever take Jesus' place. Nkrumah did not die for the people. Nor did he stick it out to the end like Qaddaffi. He went to Guinea. Just an observation.
(Romans 5:8) 'For God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.'

Yes, every president is is unique unto himself or herself. None is like the others.
He died in Bucharest, Romania. So apparently he had made friends with a very unsavory regime. Yes, at the time Romania was being praised in the West for its relative independence toward the Soviet Union. But later our eyes were opened.
Do you any idea of the human-rights abuses of that regime, how the leading family had palaces built for them while the peasants suffered and orphans were left in subhuman conditions?
Now I did sample Nkrumah's writing at one time, and he seemed intelligent. But his confidence in 'scientific socialism' was unjustified. The importation of marxian thought (a late product of the European 'Enlightenment') did not yield great results in Africa, did it?
Man is regarded in BOTH capitalism AND marxian socialism as an 'economic animal'. But there is more to man than that. The Bible tells us that we are created for the purpose of fellowship with our Creator. OF COURSE we need to address economic injustice. Yet Jesus said, 'you cannot serve both God and wealth.'

ALL empires eventually decay and fall, in God's time. In the case of Britain, you did not bring this about single-handedly, nor do I think that the process is quite complete. This Brexit thing is still in the works. What if Scotland regains its independence and rejoins the EU, leaving 'little England' (with its large muslim ghettos) to its own devices?
However Christ's Kingdom, once established in its fullness, will be an eternal Kingdom.

He was handed a police force, military, civil service heavily infiltrated and the CIA and MI5 had actual presence in Ghana. His opponents were Sandhurst trained. Harold Wilson connived with the American President in his overthrow by the CIA.
Kwame Nkrumah was unapologetic clear about the need to unite Africa which meant liberating the likes of our Zimbabwe then Rhodesia.
Nkrumah's vision holds necessary and true today. It remains a matter of anxiety for the scrounging western world which sees Africa as it's go to place to cherry pick whatever resources for a song. Time has arrived to turn the tables. The onset of China makes it real. We shall overcome. Long Live. President Kwame Nkrumah!!! Long Live. Long Live African unity. Long Live!!!

If you mean to judge all Westerners in that way, you are making a grave mistake. Be sure that you are not indulging in a little 'projection'. Remember, 'by your standard of measure it will be measured to you.'
But OF COURSE there are far too many racists in the West. The US president is one example. But who says that racism is exclusive to the West? It is a fault of human nature generally, to worship oneself and, as an extension of that, one's own 'kind'. But some of us are inspired by better examples-----------the greatest of which is JESUS CHRIST.
(I hope that you are not one of those deceived persons who think of Christianity as Western or European 'religion'. It began in Jerusalem, among Jews, and one of the first Gentile converts was an Ethiopian official------------BEFORE the Gospel was preached in Europe.)

Seretse Khama, the first president of Botswana, needs a lot more recognition when it comes to post-colonial African leaders.
"Khama instituted strong measures against corruption, the bane of so many other newly independent African nations. Unlike other countries in Africa, his administration adopted free market friendly policies to foster economic development. Khama promised low and stable taxes to mining companies, liberalized trade, and increased personal freedoms. He maintained low marginal income tax rates to deter tax evasion and corruption. He upheld liberal democracy and non-racism in the midst of a region embroiled in civil war, racial enmity and corruption. Khama embraced the rule of law."

Here's how some Africans view the Nkrumah years.
"But from the very beginning, there was never any true freedom, justice or independence in Ghana. The whole thing was a charade!! The country was soon put under the scourge of the Preventive Detention Act (PDA) in 1958, giving the president the power to put any citizen in prison without trial, and Nkrumah progressively tightened the noose of dictatorship around the country with further draconian laws. Eventually, no law existed in the country because Nkrumah became the law unto himself."

It's quite simple: people tend to make up justifications for what they are doing, if needs be after the fact. Careful self-examination is rare, likewise taking the perspective of another into account. Also, the strong tend to take advantage of the weak; yet the weak would like to become strong themselves, and if they succeed, they may end up behaving the same way.
(Proverbs 21:2) 'Every man's way is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts.'
