Ekzil - "Chasing illusions" : Circuit Track / Volca sample / Volca bass

- Today I wanted to test a completely new setup, more compact. I said goodbye to my favorite midi controller. I decided to use uniquely the synths performance capability.
I took out the Volca Sample 2 that I never managed to use .. until now 😁
The "step jump" function of the volca sample is really interesting in a live context ! it allows you to make original transitions..

Setup:
Novation Circuit Tracks: Drums, bass, chords progression
Volca sample 2: Drums
Volca Bass: main melody
Korg NTS-1: reverb, chorus, build up with the noise oscillator and outro melody (with FM oscillator)
This jam was performed and recorded live to a stereo output.
I edited the mix in Ableton, by adding EQ and compression.

Thanks ! I find that the Volca Sample complements very well the drum tracks of the circuit (which are a little bit limited in terms of possibilities)

Good mix and sound, enjoyed. Technical thing if you don't mind answering: the Volca Sample 2 has a 16 step sequencer, in theory with a Circuit Tracks a man can overcome that limit. What's your experience sequencing the Volca 2 with the Circuit Tracks?

I find the Volca 2 very frustrating because it is not possible to mute/unmute tracks when you chain several patterns together.. really a shame.
I use it with the circuit track via the sync out of the CT and the sync in of the sample 2. The main advantage is that It allows me to exceed the limit of the 4 drum tracks of the CT, and it offers more options to tweak the samples (pitch / start position / etc ... )

hey man love your work. i bought a korg nts-1 but cant get it to connect to the circuit. i think i may have gotten the wrong cable. do you know where you found yours?
Hi ! You have to buy a 3.5mm stereo jack to 2 x 6.35mm mono jack and plug the NTS1 into the 2 inputs of the circuits if you use the stereo effects of the NTS1 😉. Input 1 and Input 2 of the Circuit must be respectively pan hard left and hard right to reproduce the stereo effect. Hope this help you !

do you can control circuit external tracks with the fx from nts?
This is in fact what I do😉, my 2 external synths pass into a mixer, and the output of the mixer is connected to the input of the NTS1. Then, the NTS1 is connected to the 2 inputs of the CT

Thanks ! I used all the available patterns 😅.. like many users I find that this is one of the limitations of circuit tracks !
