    Do not simply exchange Passover for Easter! The two are not the same!

      Yea and the passover celebrates the resurrection as well. It requires a sacrificial lamb and what does Jesus become? That's right a sacrificial lamb. Also he himself celebrated it. Same as his disciples after his passing. God literally commands it to be celebrated but Christians are like "Naw we good. We made up our own but thanks anyway. You know what, we actually gonna forget all of em and celebrate our own pagan ones in their place and just make up reasons why they're about Jesus."

      What is Passover and why is it celebrated?
      Passover, in Judaism, holiday commemorating the Hebrews' liberation from slavery in Egypt and the “passing over” of the forces of destruction, or the sparing of the firstborn of the Israelites, when the Lord “smote the land of Egypt” on the eve of the Exodus.

    Im listening, open for correction, and the gentleman starts in on rabbits 😮‍💨. What do rabbits have to do with Passover, I mean, Pascha? Sir, please be sincere. The young man asked for Biblical evidence, what happened to it? We never said Pascha was mandated. Just like we choose to worship any other Sunday, We *choose* this particular Sunday to remember Christ's death and Resurrection because we never want to forget that His sacrifice is why we live. He's our Passover lamb, so no one should have to tell us we should probably hold that event in high regard.
    In fact we can celebrate Passover, I mean Pesach, too if we wanted because theres freedom in Christ.

    • @YahwayorNoway
      @YahwayorNoway 6 месяцев назад

      What do you consider mandates vs. commands im interested to know. I agree we should remember the sacrifice made on our behalf. But thats daily task. What is a heathen? What keeps us out that category? Honest genuine questions

    • @thelifeofmaryd.2494
      @thelifeofmaryd.2494 6 месяцев назад

      I truly appreciate you, and your questions. Sorry for the book, I wanted to be as thoughtful and thorough as I could. From what I understand there are 4 Hebrew words used to describe the word "commandment," one, chuqqah, refers to festivals and rituals.
      1. A command *mitzvah* is a prescription to be obeyed. A mandate is a subscription to an authority to accomplish a task. Perhaps categorized as a *choq*/ statute.
      For example Gods mitzvah was for us to never divorce. The idea being that we should know how to love a spouse the way God wants us to. But Moses intercedes and was given authority to mandate divorce in certain cases because we lacked the proper heart. This accomplishing the task of Grace, keeping us out of sin. This, however, does not negate God's command. That is the standard we all should strive to meet.
      Judicial/ Civil and Moral Laws or mishpatim never go away. They are based in God's nature. Which is in simplicity, "Love God above all things, and love all things God created." Which is not interpreted by us to be a "simpy," feckless, toothless, love, like newagers want to believe; but a sincere respect for one's neighbor and property, and as Jesus said, a Godly love for one's enemy.
      2. You spend all week in the festival of Pesach, but you dont forget God on Monday, right 😅? I remember my Mom everyday, but on her birthday I'm a bit more thoughtful toward her. If you ask a person that observes Pascha what they do, they'll say, "go to church, listen to a sermon, go to a mother's house and eat a bunch of food after." Ask what they did the Sunday before they'll say, "go to church, listen to a sermon, go out and eat a bunch of food afterwards."😂 To us it sounds like he's confusing what the world and capitalism says Easter is and what Christians recognize Pascha as, which we sometimes colloquially call Easter (due to regional Germanic Language, not having anything to do with pagan gods. This link between Eostre, Eostremonath, and Easter doesn't occur in any other lang of people who observe Pascha. It's not where we got it from). He also seems to imply we should celebrate a feast that shows we're hoping and waiting for the prophesied, the one day promised Lamb on the March 31. But we shouldn't even take time and remember that Lamb already came, was sacrificed, and did the amazing work of redemption for all of us, on March 31. Which we do everyday, and hold no day as greater than any other. But March 31 is THE day it happened, so while others observe that the Messiah will one day come, we observe that He already did.
      3. Heathen is a modern term. God said, "learn not the way of the Goyim." Which meant *nations* or, those who aren't Jewish. Today, according to "The Church" (because Christ grafts us into the Jewish promise), we refer to non believers and those who dont worship the God of the Bible as heathens. For example, people who say God lies and Jesus was femme are down right heathens.
      What differentiates one from a heathen is either being "Saved," accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, taking on His "Great Commission," being baptized, and transformed by God's Holy Spirit. Or you can choose to atone for your sins yourself by following every single OT Law to a tee. With absolutely no mistake, deviation or substitution. That's why we say:
      Accepting Jesus accomplishes the task of freeing us from the The Priestly or Holiness Code including the Sacraficial Laws /hukkim or chuqqah. The thought being that Jesus fulfilled the need for the sacraficial lamb and scape goat. He's was greater, so how can you go back to a lamb to cover sin? Those things prescribed in ceremony was due to there not being a lamb worthy enough to carry all sins for good, therefore, temporary. Galatians 3:23-25 explains that we aren't bound to sacrifice anymore because of Christ. So, how would we traditionally celebrate festivals like Pesach the way it was mandated? Instead we take the week to observe Pascha.

    Ok, let's start with the idea that we shouldn't celebrate Easter. Why? Because it's not mentioned in the Bible? So what? Is there some scripture that specifically says we can't celebrate important aspects of our Christian faith? The answer is, there isn't a biblical reason you can point to that indicates we shouldn't celebrate Easter.
    Next, Easter started as early as the second century, making it almost as old as Christianity, and it was, and still is, a Christian celebration. It's not a celebration of some other religion that Christianity simply sought to obscure and Christianize. It's always been about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
    That brings me to the next point. I don't see anything wrong with Christians celebrating Passover, but I also don't think we have to or that it's more important than Easter. Passover was specifically a Jewish celebration. It was the Jews that were enslaved in Egypt, and it was the Jews that put blood on the door posts and over the door ado that the Angel of Death would Passover that dwelling and not kill all of the first born people inside. And God specifically was speaking to the Jews when He commanded them to keep Passover to commemorate what was done. The Bible doesn't say anything that we have to interpret as later including Christians who aren't also Jewish.
    As far as saying we shouldn't celebrate Easter but should celebrate Passover, why would we prioritize Passover over Easter. I get that Passover is foreshadowing for what Jesus would do, basically God attempting to teach Israel something that they could recognize about Jesus' death on the cross so that they could properly appreciate what Jesus did by dying on the cross. If Jesus had simply died on the cross and we didn't realize that He was the Passover lamb for us, what would be the point. Of course, if Jesus didn't rise from the dead, there still wouldn't be a point and Christians would have no reason for their faith (1 Cor 15:14). So, from a Christian perspective, Jesus' resurrection is of utmost importance. So why should we celebrate Passover but not Easter? I would think that if we only chose to celebrate one of those, it would be Easter.

      Christmas is in the bible. It's explained as
      Traditions heathens hold;
      Jeremiah 10:2-4
      [2]Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
      [3]For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
      [4]They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

      @@Nativeroots559c I suggest you read honestly, not pouring to our preconceptions onto the text. That passage talks about idols. And there is no early evidence Christmas's trees are "heathen" zero, nada.

      @@ElficGuyThen you're done for, and there's no helping you. That scripture is crystal clear... It first states learn not the way of the ***heathen***... So things like traditions, ideologies, cultural practice... and then they PROCEED to describe a very specific pagan holiday that ***heathens do***... Literally verse 3 and 4.
      But you sit there, and say there's no evidence that the Christmas trees is heathen... Despite what those verses clearly said... There's no need for preconceptions. It's simple.
      So yes, without a doubt, you are illiterate. Lord willing you repent, because fixing your type of stupid is beyond many.

    The word Easter itself is Babylonian. The festive pratices of that holiday come from ancient Rome and are pagan.
    We are supposed celebrate the Passover was a prerequisite to the death of Christ. Also the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The blood of a lamb saved the ancient Isralites from death, during the plagues of Egypt. Christ became that Lamb, when he died on the cross, so we may be saved from a permanent 2nd death, following judgement. Passover is not just a Jewish holiday. Remember, Jesus is from the House of David. His mortal family was Jewish.
