Very good video! A tip that may help (coming from another profession) is that for removing the initial inserts, perhaps an automotive interior trim removal toolkit would be useful. They’re usually made of material that won’t damage whatever they’re butting up against. Though I imagine a plastic scraper or plastic putty knife would work well also. Additionally, adding a thin layer of cotton lining/stuffing or foam in between the board and the material can create a more plush environment. Love the work!
I build boxes of all sizes and I had a customer ask me to make a cuff link box. I had no idea how I was going to line the bottom, I wanted to use black velvet. After watching your video I know how I’m going to do it now. Thank you so much for your advice. I was worried about the edges of the velvet fraying over time but wrapping the edges is such a good idea. On my next box like this I’m going to spray mount a tin piece of foam on the cardboard so I can have an extra soft bottom.
You explained everything so well. How kind of you to make this video because you are right, so few of its nature exist. I can’t wait to line my jewelry drawers, thank you.
So very helpful. I’ll be re-lining the drawers of a jewelry armoire that I painted and decoupaged and accidentally got paint on the velvet drawer lining! Thank you!🙂
You are by far one of the best teachers I have seen on RUclips. Your explanations, ideas, suggestions are very helpful. Thank you!! Hope you make more videos.
I have a question as I’ve never relined a JB before. I purchased a roll of velvet and it was the sticky back. So why not peel, place and stick the velvet to the inside of the drawer? Is there any advantage of sticking the velvet to cardboard first? Thank you 😊💙 Edit: I did it! It worked out pretty good to cut the velvet and place directly on the wood. I didn’t even have to bother scrapping off any glue.
Hi, I'm so glad it worked out for you. You can just put the velvet straight on to the wood. I just like how it looks first sticking the velvet on cardboard. So it's just preference. Thank you for your comment 🤗

hi, maybe I missed it, but when you are gluing in your velvet lining, do you use the double sided tape for that as well?
The velvet lining already has its own glue.
Cool, thank you!
Can you supply the link to the velvet adhesive rolls and sheets?

Thank you! Can you also supply the link to the double sided tape?
Hi, the double sided tape is from Michael's or Hobby Lobby. You can find it at the scrapbooking area.
@@SelahScrappingMemorables thanks again! I learned so much from your tutorials 👍🏻
