- While I was at one of my job sites, I found an old Dumont 17HP4 CRT laying in an outside storage room in which only critters and birds inhabited.
Anyway, I brought it home to see if it had any life left in it or was it DOA.
Well that is not something you see every day. A Dumont branded vintage picture tube just waiting for you to take home.
Too bad it is very very tired. Might just be a watch in the dark picture only kind of tube. Thanks for showing it Sam!

it seems like there was a company making crt boosters back in the 60s that you could plug between your crt and the harness that would brighten the picture. i think
they were advertised in the back of popular mechanics/science. they were probably bogus. i worked on enough old cars to figure out when i was wasting my time
and/or money.i have seen people spend a lot of time/money bringing an old jalopy back to life, so good luck with the dumont.
the only bet i would make is you will have a very hard time finding a good dumont. i have never seen a dumont tv and i am as old as that crt!
Well, it's better than a necked tube.
