What i love about this channel is that even if i dont care about the plug in( i have iron) I am still guaranteed to listen to some excellent music mixed by someone who knows both sound and music. The only channel about sound engineering i can say that. And that to me is a source of inspiration far more important than any plug in.
I have it and they made several upgrades since this video. A trick when i mxinig is to use it in parallel in the mix buss using the center or side, the last one opens the mix in a really nice fashion.
Excellent review of a pretty special plugin. It's not cheap but, hey, I've wasted far more money on plugins I've never or hardly used. This is finding it's way on most of my tracks.
Thanks for your review. I think I will purchase it as well. Quick question. Can you do a review of AirWindows plugins? They are really top notch and truly analog sounding!
So what can be just done with EQ some compression?. Im always sceptical about these kind of plugs that miminc hardware when they never sound like the hardware they emulate as they are DSP not analog. It could be the placebo effect in audio software form.
For me it doesn't matter if it sounds exactly like the hardware, if it sounds good and archives what I need then that what counts for me. Also I learned my trade in analog studios recording to tape (I still have my tape splicing kit! :-) And I still have some analog gear. But my personal opinion is that analog isn't necessarily better than plugins. Sometimes plugins that emulate the hardware actually sound better than the real thing or at least as good to my ears. But we all hear things differently so, that's just my subjective opinion.
@@heronislandstudio8054 Thanks fella. I suppose been hands on with the hardware as well is rather appealing. My friend has a studio with a ton of gear and he swears the hardware compressors etc sounds better. Yes it seems to be subjective but its about the music at the end of the day. The consumer doesnt care. Its what moves them that counts. Hey what a time with all the fantastic software been made. Great music and mixes can be done in the box and with cans where ever one may be. Thanks for your insights.
@@heronislandstudio8054 that's a great and differenciated approach and point of view. Only thing I can say about P42 is that it is capable of creating a sound no other single plugin of the 600 or so I know is able to provide. And no other can treat original audio as respectfully, especially when you stack them in series or parallel. It's the exact opposite to many other plugins. The more P42, the better cumulative (vividness, depths, imaging). The more other plugins the more narrow and cloudy a mix can become. P42 is a real game changing cornerstone in my perception after using it for months now.
Is this the same pluging? The GUI looks way better! Go to 50 secs into this vid and see what I'm talking about. ruclips.net/video/GjXGS0oaSqk/видео.html
