@darkrulier Monstrum Nox does run like garbage on Switch. I played around with Nordics via the Japanese demo on Switch and it was completely fine to me. To each their own for sure. I plan to pick it up on PC also as my main way of playing through it. I’m just a fan of collecting for Switch.

And it's not translated or anything it's just in plane English. Seriously everyone always complaines about nisa. Regardless of if they do there work properly. Which in this case they absolutely did!

Ys X nordics is essentially the second game in the timeline after Ys I & II, you don't really need prior context of other entries to play any Ys game ( outside Origin and I & II) You can start at any point, although some games feel a lot better with prior context (like Ys IX Monstrum Nox)
This adventure not, but ys8 and 9 are chronological, and there are some hints, items and even spiritual presence of old characters in 9 that were carried over from 8.!
I believe this game is based on what happens after Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished. The Shield Sister this is probably localization issues and probably had little choice but to use those.

the games are ok the timelines are horrendously confusing....so this is a prequel to Ys Dana,......where Aldo cant talk and Ys IX is Aldo in its twenties , and still cant talk .....but in Ys X he can...... which is before the events Dana and Ys IX Whereas Ys X combat, features, etc is vastly improve than Ys IX and Ys Dana, where the combat is like from Playstation 2, stiff and stale................. , when its Ys IX should be the latest chronological order in the series.................. Ok............
It's practically a direct sequel to Ys II. From my understanding he talks sometimes during gameplay/combat, but he's silent during the actual cutscenes; so pretty much how it was in most of the party system games.
You guys of have a really bad release schedule for this game and I’m just gonna have to miss launch. Bad release date when you’ve been handing out review copies like candy.

English voice acting is a little campy, but it usually is in these games. I stick to Japanese voice anyway.
