Arunachal: NSCN (K-YA) Militant Killed in Gunbattle with Assam Rifles

One NSCN (K-YA) militant was killed during a fierce gunbattle between a group of heavily armed militants and Assam Rifles at Chop village in Wakka circle in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh today. Officials said that the encounter broke out when the militants fired upon a team of Assam Rifles. During retaliatory firing by the Assam Rifles, one militant was killed. The forces also recovered an automatic rifle, ammunition and fired cases from the encounter site which is close to the Indo-Myanmar border. The operation is still on.
