We've owned a 2016 and it was a wonderful car. A kid pull out in front of my wife last year and it was totalled. All airbags went off and she was shook up, sore with and a bruise on her shin and where the shoulder belt hit her collarbone but overall for the amount of damage to the car she was OK. She was going around 35+ and i could not believe that the two front doors still closed perfectly. I mention that to the police officer and he said that tells you that is the car to have. Went to buy a new replacement and bought the GLC AMG 43. WOW! What a car! We love everything about it with the exception of tad bit of increased road noise. MB hit a home run with this SUV. You really can't go wrong here. Amazing car/SUV. Go ahead...treat yourself you will never look back.
tim haisch why do you buy the amg if you buy the car to be comfortable and quiet and why should you even buy it outside of Germany where you can‘t unliesh it‘s full power. What a waste of money
gamingmuffin620 cool, we should all buy only what you like. same clothes, same hairstyle, same food. becuase we all know only you can decide whats good to buy.
This GLC is amazing! Anyone that is interested in buying the GLC don’t even hesitate 😉 I loved the ride feel, the MBUX system is flawless, feels like using an iPhone for the first time or something 😂
Great overview of the 2020 model. If you are thinking of a luxury SUV/crossovers, ignore the BMW crowd and other haters that posted. I have the 2018 GLC 300 4Matic, and it is the best car I have ever owned-And I am almost 60 and have owned quite a few cars! You will LOVE this car. Sometimes I think other car dealers post on these websites to dump on the competition! (BTW, my occupation is in education, not in the car business.) Enjoy the GLC! I just wish mine had the new voice system!
Vanessa I Hi! The “A Service” for the first year (or 10000 miles) is around $400, plus extra for tire rotation and balance. The second year (or next 10,000 miles) or “B Service” is around $500 plus tire rotation and balance. These two services then alternate each year thereafter.
Thank your responding!! I Love your car but I really like the coupe version as well. I’m thinking of buying a used one when I’m ready and clear some debts. People stress how unreliable Benz are and breaking down. I understand the yearly and half yearly oil changes are expensive but it’s expected. How often have you needed to go fix any tech issues in your car? Is it true that it is a money pit?
Vanessa I I haven't had a single expense on the car, other than my “A Service” back in June. The reliability issue has been more of an issue in Europe than in America, and then mostly with the 2016s and 2017s. However, the Perrelli tires I have heard wear out fairly quickly, at between 12000 and 18000 miles, according to some posters. I have not had one problem, though. I did take it in for an airbag sensor recall, but that was free. I am very happy. One weird point, though....you can't roll the back windows down while you are driving because the car sounds like big bass drums because of the sound vibration.
J Jean niiiice well what do you think of this: there’s a 2017 glc coupe on sale for 39,998$ with 28,003 miles near me through a dealer and it’s had two owners. I see on CARFAX that it had some recalls but all taken care of as well as maintenance. 1) do you think it’s priced right? Should I wait till next year for lower price? 2) you think this 2017 will have some issues? I drive a 2005 Ford Fusion. Nice commuter car I drive 28 miles each way to and from work. A Benz would def be my “in between work” car lol but only for a cheap price!!
About the GLC Coupe at your 8:30 video, I don’t want an SUV for practicality, I want it because I slide into the seat, not climb into or drop into it. I’m 60 and only my spouse and I will ride, rarely any passengers. I needed trailer towing capacity for the toys I own now that I can afford them since the kids have left the nest. And most of all, I want luxury and style. MB understood me well with the GLC coupe as I don’t need GLE or GLS size. I’ve had multiple CLS63s and I’m done with the AMG diluted brand now, the 4 cyl will serve me well and operating costs will be substantially less.
How much is this SUV able to tow and what MB charge for towing package on one of these? This is very important to me, even in a small SUV for towing a small utility or tent trailer.

please, point the lack of a full size spare wheel. Cutting weight it's not a good excuse. Tirefit kits don't work well and a space saver is also not a reliable solution as the range is limited as well. At least give me the choice to tick it as an option. Or leave room in the trunk for one and I'll buy one full size wheel myself
I'm a bit skeptical of the claim that MBUX has "the best" voice recognition system. I know the CarWow guys had issues with it as did other reviewers. Admittedly, I forgot who but it was more than just the CarWow guys. At the risk of sounding snarky, if it's so great why didn't you demo the voice recognition on camera?
I've tried both MBUX and the latest offering from BMW. The BMW system was more responsive and better in a lot of ways. That said I'd take the GLC over the X3 because it just rides so smoothly.
even if there is a speed limit in germany, the police can't enforce it from a squad car. They don't have radar guns or sth else and they can't use their speedometer either.
Big seller in Canada. Wish there were side lights that were always on for safety reasons in SUVs similar to as required by law in a Class 8 tractor trailer combo.
Getting one in a week or two, I’m really excited. Ever though maths are useless? Well, no. Applying robust mathematical models to your own business can do wonders!
MBUX system sounds amazing but I really really hate the sticky out touch display. Always have. I really don't understand why Mercedes persevere with it or any car manufacturer. It seems like an afterthought. "der wagen iz wunderschonen ya? Ve need to add zee final stucke to complete it. My 2017 GLC has full stop adaptive cruise control, so not sure that is new, but the MBUX infotainment system and adaptive dampers address my biggest disappointments with this SUV. Now they just need to re-engineer those useless running boards....look nice, but totally impractical.
@Crow Killer Overall, I've been quite happy with the GLC, but as I indicated the "Command" infotainment system is not competitive with more recent technology. The design is quite dated, and is awkward to use. I've read great reviews on the new MBUX, but it won't take much to surpass the existing system. My other gripe is the overly firm ride with the standard suspension. I've recently replaced the run flat tires with non-run flats, which is an improvement, but I think it really needs the dynamic/air suspension to take the edge off the stiff ride, while preserving decent handling.
Not paying top dollars for a chassis that was designed 5 years ago, and for the price Mercedes demands for it GLC should have a V6 engine as standard, in fact any car that's $40k and above should have a V6 not a skimpy 4 cylinder with annoying turbo nonsense
Sorry, for the money RDX is the best in its class. Sure, I would take GLC AMG over RDX every given day, but I would pay more, much more. Try to build GLC 300 with the features of RDX advance trim and you'll see it costs thousands more. Also, the RDX SH-AWD drives better than the GLC-300
Thanks for this reply. Im leaning towards 2020RDX because more options are already included. MB nickel/dime everything. As far as infotainment, im buying a car not a stereo. Other reviews for RDX say stop whining and just practice using infotainment system ...
Great we won’t get the hybrid. That means I can upgrade from my 2018. I will never purchase a car that is hauling around a few extra hundred pounds of batteries. Gas is dirt cheap and highly available. Shove the toxic batteries and the associated dead weight. That wind noise off the mirror is incredibly annoying during highway driving. The driver seat causes my legs to cramp.
Still the best compact luxury suv? Wait a minute. The previous one was not even close to being the best. It was a pile of trash compiled from the Mercedes parts bin (mostly C class), dated tech, average quality, dull performance. An X3 would run rings around it. The discovery sport would rough this up off road. An Audi Q5’s fit and finish was leagues ahead of this. The Volvo XC60 tech would make the Merc owners feel like they were in Stone Age. The only thing that has changed now is the all important ‘MBUX’. All the reviewers seem mesmerised by this system and every one is judging the car by its infotainment system and not the overall car itself. Granted it’s a great system but don’t forget it’s still the same car with basically newer tech. Previous owners of the GLC said they would never ever buy another GLC and were least satisfied with this car overall. I’m a Mercedes fan boy but the GLC isn’t their best moment. This car merely went from being bad to average now.
BMW X3 is still my choice. Better driving, far superior iDrive system, advanced tech and more seating/trunk space. Audi Q5 is also more advanced with the incredible Cockpit Nav. MB is a softer ride, nicer look interior/exterior, but has the least amount of space and most expensive.

2014 interior. BMW X3 and X5 really win in interior and technology. Exterior both look really good so both get points there
Console Peasant The interior of this car is a carbon copy of the current-gen C-Class
BMW interiors are bland with tiny screens.
