I am a British Pakistani living near Windsor Castle, UK and belong to a top-flight Ghakkar family in Pakistan and have even inherited lands given to my great-great-grandfathers etc by the British.
The section on Ghakkars was very interesting and I knew we were close allies of the British against the Sikh Rule etc but this definitely gave some additional context to the situation at the time.
As your disclaimer at the beginning says, let's hope we all learn from history in order to build an amazing future for Pakistan.

According to author of ‘Tareekh-e-Murree’ the real name of Baz Khan was Sultan Ahmad Khan. Dhunds Abbasi came out to challenge the British under the leadership of Sardar Baz Khan Abbasi. Sardar Baz Khan and his companions went from village to village to mobilise and organise people for their crusade against the British intruders. Sardar Baz Khan succeeded to get support of some important chief of clans of the area. Sardar Borha Khan of Satti clan and Sardar Hassan Ali Khan of Karral tribe are worth mentioning. The main cause of uprising at Murree was religious. In the month of July 1857, the chiefs of the Dhund and Sati clans met Lieutenant Battye, Assistant Commissioner of Murree and protested on the ongoing missionary activities. Failing to get positive response from the British officer they decided to rebel. The freedom-fighters decided to attack but Hakim Khan, one of the lumberdars of Lora and a guard of Lady Lawrence, informed the British about the intention of the freedom fighters. So, on September 2, the freedom-fighters attacked, the British were ready to respond. As the freedom fighters were not expecting this resistance, so they were not ready for this and soon they were repelled and went back. In the end British succeeded to crush the freedom-fighters with help of traitors within Satti and Ghakhar tribe. Sardar Baz Khan alongwith many other freedom-fighters i.e. Dr. Rasul Bakhsh, Dr Ameer Ali and a tin worker Syed Karam Ali were executed. In this way the movement at Murree came to an end.

ایک تصیح کر دیں۔لوکل داستان گو کے مطابق۔۔ انگریز فوج کے کیمپ جو کہ تریٹ میں واقع تھا اس پر حملہ کرنے جب عباسی قبیلہ کے لوگ جارہے تھے تو ایک ستی قبیلے کے فرد نے اسکی مخبری کی تھی جس وجہ سے مزاحمت کاروں کو بھاری جانی نقصان ہوا تھا۔

Raji Gahkars were rulers and land lord's way before the British actually came to India, Ghakhar shah was settled in pohtowar and kashmir in year 1002 an in 11th century made tohglu fort also known as {Ramkhot) in Azad kashmir and many other forts in punjab pohtowar regoin. Gahkars physically did not help the British fight against muslims, And to mention there was mostly native indians and many other castes who sided with the British. So, on September 2, the freedom-fighters attacked, the British were ready to respond. As the freedom fighters were not expecting this resistance, so they were not ready for this and soon they were repelled and went back. In the end British succeeded to crush the freedom-fighters with help of traitors within Satti and Ghakhar tribe. Sardar Baz Khan alongwith many other freedom-fighters i.e. Dr. Rasul Bakhsh, Dr Ameer Ali and a tin worker Syed Karam Ali were executed. In this way the movement at Murree came to an end.
