    Kenny Burrell had a big impact on Hendrix... you can tell from those dominant #9 chords.

    Kenny' knowledge and use of chords
    and the blue textures he creates
    are second to none.

    I love this album. Kenny in a trio set. He’s a total giant. Also, the guitar sounds perfect. Wonderful album.

    Heck the intro arrangement of Old Folks is a masterclass in voice leading right there.

    • @TheWorshipful2008
      @TheWorshipful2008  Год назад

      Yes it's very nice. However I really like the way Wes Montgomery does it as well maybe a little better. I am just Wes Montgomery aficionado. I really like Kenny but Wes just does something different for me.

    • @zappafile123
      @zappafile123 Год назад

      @@TheWorshipful2008 but the thing is Wes is a melody player, Kenny is doing some real nice chord melody here and his approach to harmonisation is so tasty. Wes is still a God, just a different style of playing.

    • @TheWorshipful2008
      @TheWorshipful2008  Год назад

      @@zappafile123 I totally agree that Kenny stands out as a chord voicing master. I play my best with Kenny because his chord structure is perfect for piano/keyboard. Playing along with Wes is most troublesome because of his complicated chord changes. I love both of them. My brother Wilbert was one of Wes' protege along with George Benson. George told me that he and Wilbert used to go see Wes to get some pointers and that Wes would always say to them, " Man I am trying to get it right myself" .Imagine that. George and all the guys got together in 2006 to do a concert for Kenny on the West Coast but we did not attend. I wish we had. Listen to some of Wilbert and you can hear the influence of Wes, George and Kenny. Stay blessed my friend. Hit the subscribe button please.

    Anyone have a tab or lesson for Tin Tin Deo? So unique the way he does it; generally a faster dance tune.
