I'll be stacking Britannias maybe a few Maples, but I think the best option right now at the moment are the 10oz+ silver bars because the premiums are lower.
Gotta say... SD Bullion packages their shipments VERY well. Having received quite a few shipments from them, one might even say that they go a bit overboard with how much goes into their packaging. I've had a box, within a box, holding a pouch that contains ANOTHER bubble-wrapped bag filled with individually clear sleeved coins. Do I appreciate the care that SD Bullion puts into their packaging and security? DEFINITELY! They make sure the coins you get are as pristine as when they were sent. It just seems like a little much sometimes. But, as long as they don't allow packaging costs to significantly increase their coin prices... no worries!
As a new stacker all the way in south africa I've noticed a strange pricing anomaly, here in south africa the kruger rand has the highest premiums and the egals and maples are much lower .......all the guys I watch in the USA say the premium on egals is highest, and for the Canadians the maple are highest so if we can confirm some how that it's cheaper in premiums to stack foreign silver

Im doing it for 2 years, no regrets, few cents over spot worth it. most beautyfull coin for me, especialy as adition with3different tipes of queen face, some privy marks. i dont know about USA and Canada, bet here in Europe its affordable and at the moment same price as Britannia or Filharmonic. That maple look great!
Kangaroos are my go-to mint coin as well. They are always the better deal (currently $2 over spot LESS than MLs), and they look nicer than Maple Leafs too.
SD I received a package myself of Maples, There my #1 for stacking. I only buy cull Eagles, I’m working on a monster Maple box myself. Good video SD, good info for the beginners.
I do try to buy 4 9's silver, not sure why. Just like the idea of it being the highest grade as long as the price is practical. Don't like the queen but the maple is sharp. Have more maples than eagles.

Germania bars are not collectable dude. Theyre mass produced pressed bars with unlimited mintage and stagnant design. They are good looking bars though, just 0% collectable

The Maples with DNA tech have a hardware scope and a software program to verify authenticity in coins 2014 and later for gold and 2015 and later for silver, my dealer showed me today was very cool. 🍁
The good thing is when it comes to selling they retain the premium so it’s worth it imo because you can actually add a little bit extra on vs generic silver.

The Maples are nice, but in my local area, i never see them available, so must not be too popular around here. However, generic and 90% silver is very popular, as well as u see bars and ASE. So, unless I'm selling back online, I'd still go with rounds, bars or 90%. The spread i could get on reselling rounds, 90% & bars private party (in that order) is much higher than if i sold Maples, even with the current difference as of this video. Not hating on the maples, i love and own some, but it's important to recognize the strategy you need to go with for your local area and how you hope to sell them some day, if you ever do! 3:39 the buy-back spread is now (May 2023) only $2, not $4. (Just now checked their website). I'm not surprised though....maples never have garnered much attention from LCS's in terms of buy-back premiums.
@Jason Brown Britannias are beautiful but they milk spot. I have Silver Maples from 2014 to the present. Not one milk spot. In 2018 the RCM brought in Mint Shield to guard against milk spots. But I sure would like to get a gold Britannia to add to my gold Maples. The gold Britannia is a fantastic design!
My LCS is still selling off junk silver at $1.75 face. Currently, I have a few tubes of dimes, quarters and half’s. Would you recommend stacking junk over the current maple leaf deal at SE?

I have some Eagles, I have some other coins. But now I'm just stacking rounds. Mostly 1 ounce Buffaloes, but mainly whatever I find with the lowest premiums. The premiums are insane today. When I bought my first Eagles way back in 1986 premiums were only about 80 cents to a dollar. I felt cheated back then. Wish I had more money when I was a kid. 🙂
What if in dire times coin dealers decided they won't pay that $4.00 back of the premium? What if every single one of them said they would buy back for spot or something rediciolous like 50 cents over spot for your Maples or even worse for the American Eagles?!?!
The problem with your question in regards to which coin would you rather have, if premiums in 5 years dropped to normal levels, it would make the generic buffalo to be the superior purchase.
Hi John! 👋🏻 You shouldn’t if bars are your jam. I love buying 10 oz. RCM bars, but I also enjoy the convenience of stacking a variety of fractional options, including 1 oz. coins and 5 oz. rounds. Keeps the stacking interesting and gives me goals to shoot for as I vary my purchases each month. Want low premiums and stacking for weight? 10 oz. and 1 kilo bars are the way to go. I got some 2022 Silver Maples for $5.25 over spot a week ago at bullion exchange. That’s the cheapest I have seen them in a while. I wasn’t planning on buying anything for a while but I couldn’t pass those up.
I paid US$9500 for my Maple Leaf monster box. With any luck, it will go several generations down the family tree before the seals are broken.
Maples are absolutely one of the most beautiful coins! Definitely my favorite! And you can never go wrong with .9999 pure.

I think that’s only true for ones after 2018. That’s when they updated their process. Earlier ones still look great though.

Try to order enough to avoid shipping costs, otherwise search 5 oz silver lot on eBay, use libertycoin or bullion.exchanges.

What causes the premium difference between Maple and Eagle?
Eagles are the most prestigious coin, but also the Mint has been producing very little since the pandemic.
Do you test out the coins to check is it authentic? Even thou u bought it from a reputable bullion?
