Churchill’s recitation was entrancing. I could listen to that kind of telling for hours.
Incredible. Thought-provoking comedy. I feel like Jack could've done the tonight show as long as Johnny.
Yes it was 64. She lost her TV show and had her house repossessed . The headlines screamed that she died in China and explained that she cheated death the next day. When this show aired shortly after, no one knew what to expect. What they got was the most electrifying performance by anyone ever, in my humble opinion.
This appearance of Judy is definitely a few days after Judy & Liza at the Palladium, so I'd say November 11 1964.
Jack mentions the TV show "Bewitched" which premiered in America in the fall of 1964.
I had an exchange with Conan O'Brien, once. I should have told him Paar was the best . Jack Paar was the best that ever reigned. Emphatically and incontestably so.
Pretty sure this is late 1964 as she was in London for Judy and Liza at the Palladium in November 1964. Also in December 1963 she was doing her weekly tv series so i don't think she would have the time to go to London. I could be wrong though :)
I just went by the info on the cover of the thingamajig
Quite correct! Definitely 1964
Paar's crispy this night
Judy oh so funny ...a very dramatic version of "What Now My Love?"
_Above reproach or beneath contempt_ .... that's a keeper. It has to be public domain by now? Hey what's the international law on that, anyways?
Is this a kinescope or did they shoot it directly on film?
Was it really black and white like the pre-sell said?
Maybe they hauled an Ampex over and got a travel converter for it 😀
@@musicom67 😂
@@musicom67 Why isn’t collidescope spelt thusly?
I saw this when it was first broadcast, and it was on videotape, not film. There were production facilities available in London for the NTSC American standard. And the program was recorded in black and white.
This is 1964, not '63. A references to "Bewitched", which didn't premiere until '64 in either country.
Yeah, there's no way right after Kennedy.... there's just no way. Without some somberance
That's probably an acceptable form of the word "sombreness" to the Brits?
4:00 - 4:25
6:00 - 6:45
7:32 - 8:10
Judy hit a bad note and she said so, Well we get to see how funny she really is, but were did she get those songs? This show needed more Judy
That first song would chart today. It would crush.
And she's a hoot. Irreverent riposte.
This is from 1964.
Why did he QUIT The Tonight Show? Just to do another show.
burnt out so he quit it in 1962- but had a contract with NBC so did a weekly show till 65 to complete the contract
@@evans54 Ratings for his 1-hr Friday night show were poor, likely why things ended.
Which one did he walk out on?
