I think the keyboards app like gboard, swiftkey etc tracks the maximum data as they know what are we typing (if we want to search something, chat, etc. we have to use keyboard every time ),also they have mic access for voice typing and they learn from our typing pattern and suggests the next word to use. What are your thoughts tech junkie ?
This one time me and my friends was talking about taking a trip to ladakh and from next morning onwards I started seeing ads on insta regarding ladakh package so I told my friends and they said the same thing. It's scary AF

The worst part about all this is that how these company make our data available to ton of scammers on internet and fail to take any actions against them, evenif we report them. They can fix this problem so easily but they don't cuz its all business to them and that's Sad.

It is true, I'm using an iqoo phone and whenever I search for a product on Flipkart, Amazon, Google etc , I get ads and videos on RUclips regarding that product. This is the issue I'm facing in day to day life and feeling that my android is no more secure 🔐

yes what u said is true. this happened many times to me also. whatever i discuss i used to get ads about the same topic. i didnt pay much attention till now. but after watching ur videos, i can confirm. Believe me I used to get more spam calls and related ads in instagram in iphone. android is far better. Apple is just lying in a smarter way.
I am thankful that i have never seen any relevant ad for 2/3 years. Earlier I was curious about this like you both. Then I took all the precautions in every app or website I visit (edit: even on my google account😅). Yes this is complicated for people but unfortunately we have to be aware. Only app I permitted to track my searches is youtube, so that I get relevant content according to my taste.
same here bro not using unecessary things like alexa, smart watches to restrict what I share with these people, trying to plan out a way to limit the usage of smartphones to minimal because this data we share thinking at max we get targeted ads, we need to also understand this data is being fed to artificial intelligent bots that could potentially become dangerous some day, think how safe you will be if you are haplily giving all sensitive info about yourself like live location and stuff to that bot

It's very true. I have experienced the same on my Android phone.I was talking to my friend on what's app(call) about going out for a pizza, I found dominos ads on FB after the call. The same happened to me when I was planning to buy some specific tech prdts(which I didn't google search or shop online)talked through what's app call and I found the ad on FB again.. I remember this Decathlon case from LinkedIn. In one such posts, a person had said she refused to give mobile number for a purchase. Apparantly, they have built their system in a way that mobile number field is compulsory. At last, the store manager had to fill his own number to make bill for that lady. In my personal case, mobile number, email on Decathlon bill came handy when I had lost original bill and needed duplicate bill for reimbursement. Saved me Rs.4000. Plus, it keeps track of all my purchases.
What if I keep camera access and microphone access off all the time? And only allow it when needed? And for Laptop I use the privacy shutter available on webcam, so i guess that being hardware thing is safe.
Once my cousin was talking about hair transplant on the call, i didn't even search anything and I started to see baldness and transplant ads, they are even listening to our calls...that's how F*ked we are
If phones can capture so much data think about smart watches..how sensitive data they collect..people wear them for so many hours a day and some even when they sleep... companies know about our sensitive health data too...

Apple ka "Ask not to track "bhi kuch itna kaam ka nhi laga mujko. I reinstalled it after a few years of Snapchat and just like normally it asked me about tracking and I choose "ask to not track". a few days later I saw a Snapchat notification that one of my contacts has joined Snapchat. I checked all the permission and all the toggles were off, still, my contact details were shared with Snapchat. I thought that it might be showing older contact which I would have shared with Snapchat few years ago. But I noticed that It's accessing new contacts as well. sham on apple.
