Amazing tutorial Connor! Getting straight to the point with so much useful information. I got the x70 bag and it's so massive I don't know if I'll be able to take it on the plane. I haven't thought about the air tags until now, good idea incase someone steals your equipment. Thanks again for the video, you're killing it! 🤙🏾
Thank you so much! Glad it was useful and yeah the x70 is too big. I wouldn't recommend anything over the X50 honestly.
& get an air tag and hide it in your inspire kit for sure
@@ConnorTrimble Just purchased some, thanks man!
@@ConnorTrimble Got some air tags thanks! I was able to take the x70 on Southwest and had no problems with the size of it. I'm still a little concerned about other airlines accepting it
Keep em coming brother!!!!!!
Psyched you're psyched!! Gotta get on this editing haha.
Awesome Video! Thanks for giving me a legitimate acronym to tell my wife I have, sounds more professional than obsessive compulsive! Hello from the East Coast
Bahahaha major GAS on the East Coast, can smell it from here
Great stuff man!
Let’s goooo!
Mini 4 Pro videos coming soon 😅
Thank you! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 waiting to see you GAS video on diving equipment 😂
Nice one Connor! Double check the links in the description, a few look copy pasta'd 🍝see ya out there 🤙
fooooof, thanks for the heads up! All fixed now if you wanted to check em out!
Connor, excellent job on the gear review! I'm really thinking about making a move on the mini drone and rotating handle.
100%, the mini drone is worth it for sure! Handle is a nice to have, not a need to have haha, but I love it!
Yay! Another photographer who uses their iPad Pro for editing. FYI Shimodo now makes extra large padded straps for upgrade. Got mine at Pro Camera and they are even more comfortable.
I actually don’t use it for editing haha, just for pre-production, on shoots and fun creative outlets like drawing on procreate
@@ConnorTrimble the Pro models do a pretty amazing job in Lightroom. Not 100% functionality, but if you have developed your own presets they get your there quickly without needing to lug the laptop and ipad on travel. Plus movies on the plane are much better on the IPad.
@@jimbrown4507 So true about the movies on the plane! I watched the entire f1 Drive to survive season on a flight London to Seattle on it last year haha.
I've done animations on the ipad and air dropped it to my desktop or connected it as a third screen before as well which was neat, but used only a few times a year.
GAS for a top pro cameraman works. Buy it, try it, find what works for you and your clients, sell what doesn’t. Waiting for that epic vid of Waikiki/Town🌴longboarding🏄Conner, ha🤙🏼
Haha I'm glad you approve!!! I've got a few other videos in the works first and honestly I think that video is going to take a lot of editing to really get right. Realistically looking like mid-July if I don't travel a ton in June for work, but that's TBD... It's happening though 100%!!! I'm determined to make a rad film down there!
@@ConnorTrimble Going to Tahiti gotta ask, is it all commercial-confidential or can you share some images with us?
@@bwhit716 80% commercial but I’m gonna try and shoot some stuff with the 10-20 F/4 and give a little review on that + maybe talk about what it’s like there? Any suggestions, I haven’t fully decided to be honest + always depends on how heavy our workload is
@@ConnorTrimble Like your French Alps vids, everything you produce is so captivating. When Kyle was in Tahiti (short stay), he flew his drone into the hills and valleys behind Teahupoo…really gorgeous. Tahiti is so tropical both coastal and inland. We’d love whatever you show us. Good travels🤙🏼
@@bwhit716 will do that for sure!
Love it, Thank You!! Still eager for you to release a video on your video settings and setup for surf videography from the beach and in the water! Are you still going to be doing a video on that? Really appreciate all the information you provide us! :) 🤙🏽
Yes! I have it scripted and honestly it’s going to be more of a podcast style video with sample footage vs. set in stone settings. More of my thought process behind video settings and what works for me 🤘🏽heading to Tahiti for a big project this week and balancing all of my commercial work with doing this videos which is tough 🥲
@@ConnorTrimble Awesome thank you!! I shoot with an R5 too so curious what settings and editing/color grading you use to get such clean smooth footage! Also, do you shoot in LOG or just normal?
@@ryanschneider5426 80% of the time in normal! In water 4k 120 with 24-105 f4 at f5.6-7.1 iso 100
Shutter is 250-500 range
I will occasionally use a PL/VND and shoot f4
From land usually 4k 60 normal color for RUclips edits/social media
---
If I’m shooting for a film/commercial it’s usually c-log 3 with color assist on
--
White balance in Hawaii in high sun is almost always WB 5,800 or within a few hundred of that
@@ConnorTrimble heck yeah! Thanks brotha!
@@ryanschneider5426 Yeah man no problem! Essentially the video I make will be a run down of why I use different settings in different situations because video is so much more situational than stills in my opinion. It also varies so much more on what you're going for.
Great video, thx for sharing! I'd possibly replace 2.1 with ChronoSyncExpress and other SSDs/hard drives. Possibly a lot cheaper and portable solution :).
Ohhh super interesting approach to it. I know this is super fast + reliable for me, especially compared to G-Raid, so that's why I use it. Just sharing what I've tested. I won't ever promote something I've thoroughly tried.
@@ConnorTrimble Possibly to add it to a solution to back up on the go also. What I usually do is keep everything on my memory cards as long as I haven't done a back up. Can get a bit messy though. (Biggest drawback is actually that my macbook only has 3 USB-C ports... those are constantly all taken up (and ports slow things down - maybe need to test that out again?).
the link for the iPad is the same as the handle above it.
Thanks for the heads up, fixed all of the links now if you need to check em out!
What is the best tripod for surf photography from land. Since my husband retired he is doing surf photography on land. He just bought a tree root quick lock tripod and he isn’t happy with it. Does he need a monopod? What would you suggest he buy?
It is such a joy to see my husband passionate about something because he worked his whole life doing jobs he just wasn’t stimulated with. Mahalo
It really depends on your budget, but I think anything that has a leveling head and panning head would work. But minimum of spending over $200.
GAS lollll 😂 you definitely have that
I’ll try to keep my addiction under control going forward 😓
@@ConnorTrimble haha no worries its entertaining
