I grew up in Glendale Arizona watching these guys. I actually got to be in the studio audience once and I won a ladimo bag. Best memories growing up in those days.
Early 60’s: We used to “run” to my Grandmas house to watch The Ladmo show at noon lunch..Wallace and Ladmo was on at 4:00😀 Good times.. Good old days..
I grew up in Wickenburg AZ in the 70s and 80s and watched W&L every morning before school, I loved those guys, thank you for posting this. it brought back a lot of memories.
I grew up in Ehrenberg in the 70s. I watched W and L everyday before school. It was entertaining but I watched it mostly for the cartoons. I'd give anything to go back to those good Ole days.
I was born in Phoenix 1973. One of my first memories is my older sister and I sitting on the living room floor eating cereal, watching Wallace and Ladmo. Every year we looked forward to seeing them at the fair, in person! They were genuinely nice guys. What great memories, thanks poster. (Loved Gerald by the way lol)
Grew up in the valley and was supposed to be on the show with my scout troop back just before the show went off air. Got strep and had to miss it. You could keep my paycheck for the next 5 years with a smile and handshake if I could have only got my ladmo bag. One of the few celebrities to die that impacted my life. Glad i was alive to have been witness to these two. Thanks for the hometown memories! Miss you guys!
I was a fan of this show for many years. I won a Ladmo Bag and got to be on the show for a Funny Photo in 1974. Great experience. Wallace, Ladmo, and Pat McMahon was great guys. I feel very fortunate to have been a child in that time period.
I discovered these guys on the TV dial when I moved to Phoenix in January '72 on KPHO 5. I was 6. I was hooked on them until I moved away in September '76. They were a riot! Ill never forget the time in '73 or '74 when Geralds monster kidnapped Ladmo for an entire week. Classic!
Holy Jimminie Christmas!! Like a window to my childhood. I never got a Ladmo bag. Unbelievable that nearly none of the 30+ year of broadcasting was ever recorded. These guys did no reruns, and made up new live material every week. Unreal.
I lived in Glendale in the early 80s and watched them every day. I remember the white pieces of paper on a board saying where theyd be appearing. My one goal in life was to win a ladmo bag. Sadly, i never did. 😢
I used to watch Wallace & Ladmo periodically until they went off the air. My daughter went down to channel 5 once to see the show live. She said that Wallace came across as sort of a grouch, but Ladmo seemed to genuinely love children. I felt really bad when both of them died. There will never be a replacement for those two.
My dad was a reporter for the republic and gazette. I got to go in the green room to meet Wallace and Ladmo. They actually picked me that show to receive a ladmo bag. Greatest day of my childhood!
Ahhh back in the day! I grew up in Phoenix and watched it every day. On the weekends they would run movies at the Chis Town mall Mann theatre and give out Ladmo bags
I grew up around where Pat MacMahon lived on Frier Dr. His house was the only two story house in the neighborhood. I saw him in Swenson’s Ice cream parlor at 35th and Northern. Also, I went to Cortez High with his son.
@ I heard something about that. I haven’t been back since 1990, but I imagine a lot has changed. I heard Metro Center was completely torn down. I remember a man who walked up and down 35th Ave and he had cardboard boxes tied to his body.
I actually won a Ladmo Bag with my Candy wrapper collection from USA,Canada, and Mexico. It was huge! My mom threw it away when we moved back east! Sttill sad but thrilled that I got a 1975 Ladmo Bag! YUM!!!! Oh My! I am 56.5 years old. Hmmmm! Go figure! Great memories. Saw them at Legend City a couple times as well...OH and at Christown!
They came to our elementary school Griffith in Phoenix 1976 wow what a fun time mongoose bicycles ,Elsinore dirt bikes being on the swim team climb in superstitious mountain fun times😎😎😎Going out to the flume and tubing ,rawhide,😎
Pat McMahon was a genius... But he wanted to expand the show in LA. That kind of put a damper on things. People in Phoenix were lucky to have such a great shows and good entertainment for kids (as well as adults) where they subtly taught ethics, feelings, honesty...
Lol! I was about 5 when I have memories of Wallace and Ladmo in the late 70's. I recently was at a show in Tempe, Az at a venue- Unity Through Community- that had a pic of them on the wall (among others) and had a pleasant flashback. As I watch this video, I'm amazed to see that the content is targeted more to adults than kids, in a way. I'm also very impressed with the cinematics on the skits for the time. My mom said she watched them in the 50's-60's!
Never watched a thing back then without mom or dad looking in over my shoulder or outright watching the show to approve or disapprove. Parenting was different back then and the creators of the really good shows knew that. These 2 are valley legends for damn good reason.
So long ago. Many memories from the 70s. Legend City. Big Surf. Salt river tubin. Some very good and friendly people down there. Think CHS had the worst people in the state. Glad I never went to any reunions. Don't need to see any a-holes from high school.
Well, since no tapes where saved by KPHO... Blame your parents for not loving you enough to tape the show. Mine didn't love me enough to tape the 4 shows I was on.
You can go hate by yourself in the corner. Don't spoil it for the rest of us all on here in the comment section that knew what brilliant entertainment this was during our youths . UGH !!!!!
I remember seeing them in my school in the 70s miss them days ! 🙏👍

I was born in Phoenix also in 1940. I had to wait until I was almost grown to see them.
i lived in Phoenix and saw them in like 77-78 at amusement park somewhere around there. i have pics b ut you can barely make them out with Gerald.

This show was brilliantly over my head when I was a kid
Loved seeing these guys at Legend City and on the Air after elementary school back in the day.
Such a nostalgic sound. I love the intro.
I nice to hear other natives reflecting on how different Phoenix was back then. These guys were special and we were lucky they were here.
I really miss Phoenix. And I live near 44th St & Thomas.
@@danieldaniels7571 I grew up at 32nd Street and Oak, spent a lot of time at Tower Plaza and Thomas Mall
Dan Muscutt so much is gone, but the Ice skating rink and the Dirty Drummer are still going strong. I can’t believe that Jerry’s closed, though.

We were very, very lucky. I love watching these videos. Such great memories

These guys were the best.. what great memories.. so happy to find this online.. one of my greatest regrets is that I never got a Ladmo bag... :(
I Love Wallace and Ladmo!
West High 1979!
This show was so good. In 85 my family moved from Missouri to Arizona. I felt like I moved to an alien planet, but this show comforted me.
I was on the show at 6 years old.Donna Rhyme and really liked it
My dad knew someone at the studio and my brother's and I got to be on the show and we all three got ladmo bags! I miss this show!
These guys were so funny. Love them.
When life in AZ was so different and so fun, we we’re the Desert Rats.
This was a show in AZ, I always wanted to go to one when I lived there as a kid

Wallace in real life was a civil war buff.
In my early 20's I was on a first name basis with Ladmo. Everyone knew Ladmo's name, he knew mine.
I was on the Show at 1979 Donna Rhyme from Phoenix It's A Murphy
Pat McMahon was a genius... But he wanted to expand the show in LA. That kind of put a damper on things.
People in Phoenix were lucky to have such a great shows and good entertainment for kids (as well as adults) where they subtly taught ethics, feelings, honesty...
The show was syndicated for a while. It was also on in some part of New York. That didn't last long, though.
I was on the show Donna Rhyme at 6 years old and did a carnavil for muscular dysterfy for tickets to the Wallace and ladmo rides and finpatk.

When was this? I've just rang the Humane Society about adopting the dog and they said it died of old age in 1973 😭
Ladmo reminds me of Captain Spalding fsr...lulz
Geralds monster always scared me
SSSnipperwolf stole Jerod's specks...HA!!!
Cold War humor.
Ugh. I tried to watch this episode, and only lasted 8 minutes. It's hard for me to believe that this show lasted more than 1 season.
