As Max Boyce would say, "I was there!", as a guest of SocGen. I cheered every intervention by Scott Quinnell. Actually, I have never seen Wales lose live, including 3 in Paris.
I went to this match last min. What a great day it was. We booked the Eurostar the late night before (Friday), and were surprised there were tickets left. Turned out we had entered the date for April not March by mistake. So when we turned up at Waterloo, the ticket was no good. Confused we went to the desk, and the lovely lady felt sorry for us and exchanged tickets for a space in 1st class. Result!. Got to the stadium, and got a ticket from a street seller. Convinced it was fake, we went to the gate, got in and got our places just behind the posts where Howley scores the try. Thought were were getting beat big time, then Wales turned it around. Several very expensive beers in Paris afterwards. One of the best spontaneous days of my life.
That was an epic match. Both sides put on a classy performance - It's almost a shame that someone had to win and someone had to lose. This was true sport.

One can see how the game was starting to change with less contested rucks in this match. Forwards are fanning out on defense instead of fighting for the ball against the team that got tackled and brought to ground, setting up a ruck. A few years earlier and the forwards would have been charging in from both teams to fight for possession on just about every break down. Not anymore. The game now looks more like rugby league, and that's not good. There's just not that space created unless there are mistakes made that can be taken advantage of.

Yup Jenkins holds the record for an unbelievable 44 consecutive kick successes for the (short lived) Celtic Warriors team in 2003. This game saw him be the first player to get 1000 at test level. Very probably the best of all time although pretty much all other kickers had moved on to plastic tees by then he stuck with the sand and why not with that result?

I know that this has been said many times before but Eddie Butlers pronunciation of the french names is unnecessary and annoying - thank god for jiffy - great game though
Why is it? Because you didn't pay attention in school and you struggle to understand? I'm certain you would be upset if the French commentators mangled British names.
